…for those interested.
Back in March 2019 or so the old Flypast/Key forum got hacked by someone posing as a “Trump supporter”.
Anyone who back then frequented the old forum must still remember. Those who complained about the spam postings immediately got “banned forever” etc, and it took some days before the hacker was finally booted-out and the old Key Publishing forums restored.
That hack was certainly not a quiet affair…
Problem is:
my e-mail address AND then-current forum-password got stolen.
And that probably applies to all then-current Key-forum-accounts. Yes, mail-address AND forum-password.
How did I found out? Well, by filling in my mail address at https://scatteredsecrets.com .
And then I actually took the trouble of creating an account. Yes, “Scattered Secrets” is legit, if you happen to be able to read Dutch you will find some trustworthy newspapers and websites mentioning this website.
You do not really have to create an account yourself. But you can be sure that your mail-address and then-current forum-password got stolen back then.
Scattered Secrets specifically mentioned Key.
Some people may now want to change passwords of mail-addresses. Please be aware of this.
Change your mail-password!
As can be read at
https://securityaffairs.co/wordpress/114329/data-breach/comb-breach-3-2…
data can be collected -and connected and made into “ready-to-use hacking material”.
Yes, also the likes of Netflix, Linkedin -and other “large companies” with huge “security departments” are not invulnerable to hackers…
…bumping this thread into the month of July 2020…
…for those interested:

I sincerely doubt whether Cox Automotive will actually care about this petition…
…bumping again…
https://r1.dotmailer-surveys.com/214ju2e-624oek5d
is still available.
For those who had not already done so, tick the boxes, make your views known.
…make your views known thru https://r1.dotmailer-surveys.com/214ju2e-624oek5d ,
as announced at
https://www.key.aero/forum/historic-aviation/there-it-was-gonegone?page…
I have thankfully really not seen so much “PR spin” and other “PR gobbledygook” lately ? ?
as expressed in the announcement at https://www.key.aero/forum/historic-aviation/there-it-was-gonegone?page… , but apart from ticking the boxes you can also make your views known.
And I have certainly expressed my views. This survey is probably too late now, but it seems Key.Aero/Key Publishing is now finally about to make a serious effort.
…bump…
For those who had not already done so:
tick the boxes at
https://r1.dotmailer-surveys.com/214ju2e-624oek5d
and also make your views known. This actually MIGHT help somewhat…
Could this be the creative use of statistics?
…to para-phrase former British prime minister Benjamin Disraeli:
“There are lies, big lies -and statistics”.
…some official statements regarding this forum were worded thus
that even news editors of the Soviet Pravda propaganda newspaper would blush/become embarrassed…
Oh well, just click at
https://r1.dotmailer-surveys.com/214ju2e-624oek5d ,
tick the boxes and make your REAL own views known.
As J Boyle already stated:
many of the “quality posters” have left now, scattered over Facebook.
This forum will probably now mostly function as some kind of “internet archive”
with not many new contributions to be expected…
Mind you though, also Pprune has become a lot quieter. But that was gradually.
…it is indeed gone.

As mentioned by others before:
I now only look here out of curiosity, not out of loyalty any more…. ? ?
…per this April 2020 G-AORG is for sale, again… ?

Important New Information re the Aviation services at Bruntingthorpe
Please note that, following an acquisition of C.Walton Ltd by Cox Automotive, the Aviation business and Cold War Jets Museum at the Bruntingthorpe site are now closed and will not re-open.
It is recognised that this may be concerning news to some aviation enthusiasts. Cox Automotive is an automotive services business who do not work within the aerospace sector. One of the previous owners of C.Walton Ltd, Mr David Walton, is currently investigating the construction of new buildings adjacent to the LPG ‘Q Shed’ to house some of the collection and safeguard their future on land excluded from the Cox Automotive lease. News of any progress on this front will be released by Mr Walton as and when available.
Subject to the COVID-19 situation at the time, it remains the intention of Cox Automotive to hold the planned Cold War Jets Fast Taxi Day in August. Further information on this will be released much closer to the date.
Please note that due to the COVID-19 situation there is no access to the site currently.
