Nice one Moggy! I’d never thought of it that way!

    😀

In Fairness shes really cool! She bought me two display cabinets for my Birthday to help house the 60+ models that were lying about the place!

I think she feels better knowing they are all in one place, so she can keep an eye on addditions to the collection!!!!;)

    Steve,

I’ve ordered one! i think its due to arrive in April!

I try only buy one of each varient when they are released.

When the 1:72 Spitfire, Hurricanes and ME109 were released i started buying every release, then realised that i had a load of Spitfires that ‘looked’ the same! This coupled with storage and financial outlay my collection policy is one example per type!;)
As agreed with the missus! However if shes sees this beauty arrive i may be forced into a disposal! 😀

    Great Fun!

Mike J: Special Commission Corgi Models

I was on the Corgi Heritage Centre website http://www.corgi-heritage.co.uk and they have a specially commissioned 1:72 scale Spitfire in Stanford Tucks colours.

They say this model is only available through them and only 1500 pieces will be made!

Now applying some business brain to that surely if you owned a warbird (Sally B for example) you would get a specially commissioned model made. I’m sure Corgi and Sally B’s owners/supporters could shift 1500 examples!

I’m suprised more warbird operators don’t exploit this kind of merchandise marketing

    Chill

    Mike J

You ought to chill out a bit!

I think we are all big enough to decide what we think this ‘Spitfire’ to be. Is it THAT important.

I happen to find Daz’s post interesting and he contributes a lot to this forum

We ought to encourage people to post not ‘shoot them down in flames’ over minor detail.

    Corgi!

Roger S, of all the beautiful Aviation models Corgi have released i’m sure we can go easy on them for a couple of minor errors:confused:

The Canadian Lancaster is superb by the way, errors and all:D

Having not seen both models in the flesh i wonder if the size difference creates a perception!!???!!

    Anyway… carry on Corgi!!!!:)

    Filton

Drove to Filton today from Milton Keynes, and its fair to say a very eventfull day. Someone drove into the back of my car,I lost my wallet and well… Concorde is no more.

When she touched down and taxied by i couldn’t describe my feelings Firstly pride as the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and a shiver descended my spine, then a bit of sadness for i was stood on a grass bank on a very cold and wet Filton watching a real moment of History. Then anger when you think of the politics and the people behind the decision to ground her, and finally disgust at the way British Airways dealt with her retirement.

One other thing did warm my heart and that was the Spitfire display (not sure who the pilot was?) it was brilliant and left me feeling enourmously proud. with a lump in my throat!

Thank you for posting the photo’s Plazz. They are superb. I’m getting mine developed tomorrow. (Doubt they will be as good!)

Just one last thing… Discovery Wings have been running a competition for the UK’s favourite aeroplane. i have voted for Spitfire, and i still stand by that descision. However i do hope that Concorde wins, purely because she was the result of something that wasn’t designed to go win wars or cause death and destruction, but a ‘Peacebird’ if you will, and after all she is stunning!
    😉

Now must go and book my car in with a bodyshop and cancel those credit cards

    Thanks
