At first glance, this rather ordinary biplane seems a bit boring. This was the first design from a well known company, but NOT known for biplanes.

Going by the ground helpers, it could be a Latin America special. Circa 1921.

If you can identify the smiling famous aviator in the photo, you are halfway there. He purchased the plane to set endurance records but both attempts failed. One built.

Not sure why this thread seems to bother a few every so often. I enjoy it quite a bit as is. Especially the 1930’s French rarities that Avion Ancien has been posting lately.
