Here is the untouched 2nd photo I found on the net. I didn’t see anything in the info provided to shed further light other than the “Br 01 or Be 01” on the fuselage?

I can’t really untangle the triplane mess. At this point I would be comfortable just calling it the Breda Triplane. I pulled the first photo from “La Breda 1886-1986” but there was no caption for the photo and if it was given another designation, it is buried in pages of Italian text!

I don’t think it was an extension of the WWI era Triplanes you are referring to AA. It looks like a new build to me.

This was a toughie. Built by Breda as the Breda-Pensuti B.2 or just Breda Triplane. Pensuti was a test pilot for Caproni up until his death in 1918. Confusing lineage for sure.

There was a string of small Pensuti Triplanes prior to this of which are documented moderately across the net.

Not much out there regarding this triplane. It was built by a well-known company in the early 1920’s as best I can tell.

Thanks, but your hint of 1934 allowed me to troll the French registration until I ran across something unfamilar- hence the Dupuy. Without that clue I would have not found it. I did find a larger version of the photo you posted after digging out that name. Interesting story!
