Well, France came out of nowhere and surprised the world when they convincingly beat Brazil. It was a great game and as someone pointed out earlier, Zidane was simply brilliant. It was like he never missed a beat! France has began to play collectively which has made a great difference and I do believe they have what it takes to win this tournament.
I actually hope we will see a France and Germany final. I think that would be the best match-up for the final!

Errr…. the UK doesn’t have a football team, Shadow1.
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have teams, though. 🙂
Sorry Grey, I keep forgetting that The UK emcompasses all of these nations but that as you pointed, each has its own football team. My apologies! 😮

My condolences to the families of the two British soldiers who were killed in yesterdays rocket attack.
This could be a war that will drag on for a long time to come and as much as it would appear the coalition formed by the Americans, the Brits and the Canucks might have the upper hand, I would agree that they may not be pushing as hard as they could in order to negate the influence of the Taleban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. I understand that these two organizations may have a strong hold over these people, but I reckon it could be broken in due time. But in order for this happen, one country in particular will have to become a team player rather than a lone ranger. And what might be more important is the way American forces are perceived in this region. They need to give themselves the notion that they are here to assist the people of Afghanistan rather than to occupy the country as most believe they are doing.

Fantastic! The FedEx shot is simple stunning!
I do believe that the only two players viable for the role of Captain for the UK football team would be Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard.

How many Apaches were deployed recently and where? And how many Harriers were deployed to Afghanistan in support of recent and ongoing combat operations? I realize the RAF and the British Army may be stretched a little thin at the moment, but I am sure they might be able to send a further few airframes down range.
Great looking shots although I do have to ask what type of weapon that is in the last pic?
I agree that it may be a little strange, but I don’t think European governments have taken drastic measures like the US has. The US has always been a little paranoid and they have taken it to a whole new level in the aftermath of 9/11. How many times have jets been hijacked worldwide and yet, flight crews still allow passengers to visit the cockpit? As far as there being a passenger in the cockpit at the time of landing, I don’t believe this would have had anything to do with what may have happened. Although, he could end up being a great witness in what may have actually transpired in the cockpit during the last few minutes of the doomed flight.
The last two shots you posted are simply brilliant, there are no other words to describe them!
Incredible shots from the first one to the last one. I especially loved the RAF Sentry!
Incredible collection of shots! I love the old generation B747! Great stuff!
