I’ll settle for a nice pint of Heineken. Although a nice Stella Artois does the job pretty good as well!

Argentina appears to be the team to beat. It is likely they will go far in this tournament but I was surprised they only pulled a draw against the Netherlands. Not to say that they should have crushed them, but I did think Argentina should have won with a one goal difference. Nonetheless, it was a great match!

Great bunch of games in the morning although I am already starting to develop a bit of a knot in my stomach in anticipation of France’s match on Friday night! Sweating buckets! 😮

Whenever I think about the French team I think about Platini, he should do some coaching as he is a legend.

That’s an interesting idea! Although I am not sure that Platini has the ability to be a coach. It is one thing to be a great player or a legend as you so aptly described him but it is another to be an effective coach. Bit then again, who knows, this could be an option which deserves some attention and does have merit!

At the moment we’re not sure who’s going to be the next coach but for the new players they have four years ahead, by the next WC they’ll have experience playing the Euro cup and other tournaments, so I wouldn’t worry too much.

I don’t know if you can call it worry as much as wondering what will happen to the program after this other failure. This Domenech character is a clown at best and the guy before him was clueless of how to use the talent at his disposal. It will be interesting to see who they pick as a replacement!

There’s absolutely no chance of prising Wenger away from Arsenal while he still sees a realistic chance of winning the Champions’ League with the team he’s built there.

In any case, managing Arsenal is almost the same thing as managing France isn’t it? :diablo:

In some ways, I guess you are right but if he can do it at Arsenal, what’s to say he can’t do it with the national team.

It kills me to see such a beautiful machine end a flight in this manner. What happened to the airframe, was it eventually repaired and flown back statesside for further repairs and return to service? Or was it written off due to to high a price to fix?

What a brilliant shot this is! Would have loved to have stood there just as that beast soared into the sky!

When that coach is gone I also want to see new faces in the French squad because the WC drought must be broken sooner or later.

I agree TT, however, I wonder who they will pick as the next coach (Arsene Wenger?) and also, will these new faces be ready for the big one?
