Pirates Of The Caribbean:At World’s End.
At 2 hours and 48 minutes, this is another enjoyable romp following the story of “Captain” Jack Sparrow and his motley crew. It “sailes along at a rate of knots”.SFX are spot on,concidering there’s so much water (the hardest of all) ,as are the scenes where …
a pair of ships fighting it out on the rim of a maelstrom..
the ship going over the edge..
the final 3 ship battle (equal to or better than the battle scenes in Master And Commander).
I have enjoyed all 3 of these Disney films, based on their theme-park ride. There’s talk of a POTC 4,but IMHO,the concept is running out of steam. No matter how much this film makes, this is the perfect time to let the “world sail into the sunset”.
As thespians around the the world say “Always leave them wanting more”;)
But if they do make POTC 4,my bum will be back on seat 21,row A in the Royal Circle,at the Empire ,Leicester Square, just to see what happens next……
Stay untill the credits roll as there’s a couple of minutes of story added.

Gonna see The Pet Shop Boys at the Hamersmith Apollo today(Sunday),anyone wanna start up a music thread? Every other Board has one:cool:

Actually hoping to see this one tonight. But that’s after the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indy 500 and possibly NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600.

Well, it’s been a while since I posted on this thread. I finally went and saw Spiderman 3 and well, I am sorry to say but this was certainly the absolute worst of the franchise. Too many characters were brought into the movie and not enough time to fully develop them properly. Venom was probably the best out of all of them. MJ was annoying, Peter was sad an pathetic and Sandman, unfortunately just simply didn’t do it for me. As for Harry, apparently, he survives a grenade exploding in his face but he can’t survive being ran through by Venom who uses his board. I found the movie to be confusing and a complete waste of time. It had been a long time since I had actually found myself looking at my watch too see how luch longer I could withstand. Very disappointed with this one. I guess it maybe had to do with the build-up in the weeks preceding the release so I might have gone in with high expectations.

I am surprised no one went to see Spider Man 3. As it was just released last night here in Canada, I hoping to go and see it sometime either Monday or Tuesday. Cheers!

    The Prestige:
I was actually plesently surprised by this movie. I watched it after watching The Illusionist which I thought was actually pretty good as well. As Daz mentioned, the cast meshed really well and the tension between the two principal characters was felt throughout the entire movie. I’ll have to watch a second time to take it all in.

    Next:
Just went to the cineplex to watch Nicolas Cage’s latest flick. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the previews looked pretty good so I decided to give a try. I havbe to admit that I was plesently surprised. It’s definitely not an Oscar winner and some of the Special Effects were a little lacking in quality. But the premise was interesting and the main characters did a good job. Definitely worth watching!

That’s a great series of pics from what seemed to be a great day for an airshow. I would have loved to have seen the F-111 display, I haven’t seen one since 1989 or 1990 if I remember correctly. What an incredible aircraft!

Well, I just picked up Deja Vu with Denzel Washington and Jim Caviezel. Also picked up was Night at the Museum. Not too sure what to expect of the latter one. I will post my views at a later date.
