cheers for poisting this adam, it does look very cool! i would love to be a heathrow controller!
i actually picked up transmissions from aircraft landing on 27R this morning from my garden on the isle of wight! there is a certain location in the garden that allows you to hear aircraft that are just establishing on Heathrows ILS. pretty incredible, and a massive surprise!
Sam
nice clear shots! me and adam dowley were hoping for the hibiscus on saturday……turns out we were one day too early.
great stuff, nice also to see an etihad 777 at such a dramatic angle.
Sam
these photos, also from the BBC website, appear to have been taken mere MILLISECONDS before explosions took place. :D:D

thanks for the excellent responses people! it seems that the general consensus is that it is the Kalitta everyone is talking about. i tend to agree…..it just looks….”wierd” in the picture.
Sam
according to what Mr. Dowley was telling me, it was operating on behalf of british airways on some domestic routes….from what ive been reading, its been all over in recent days. thanks for the comments guys!
Sam
i was thinking kalitta, but i was wondering about the blue underbelly towards the front of the aircraft…..i don’t think its an illusion, as it appears in more than two of my photos of the aircraft….trick of the light maybe?
Sam
some great shots adam! i especially like the climbout shots, the Virgin 747 is especially dramatic! my absolute Favourite is G-VWEB though, shame i missed that one. one of the better trips in a long while methinks! this can only spell good things for summer Shooting when we get round to it….we’ve come so far since this time last year!
Sam
and now, a selection of evening shots!
cheers for scrolling all this way.

Sam:)

superb collection of shots! i especially like the Emirates ones; that isrcraft is really beautiful in those colours. i will have to get myself down to BHX one day; the only time i have been anywhere near it is whilst being on the train. “Monkeh” appears to be enjoying hinself!
Great weather too!
Sam
