    Hi
Going slightly off subject but what about HS 2
it appears on the news that at least one cemetery is to be excavated and moved as part of the overall building of the project
surely this sets a precedent for future planning applications
in the end a burial site is a burial site
wether planned or accidental it contains the same thing human remains
    ?

Railways were built through graveyards/burial sites from the early 1800s, so HS2 is not proposing something new.

No doubt a Merlin Whirlwind would have shared many attributes with the later deHavilland Hornet.

… and even more with the Westland Welkin 🙂 … maybe a Welkin LF.II?

    Snoopy, Martin et al.
Good day yesterday with the first engine runs of 336. Well on the way to returning to flight. A piccie from yesterday to wet the appetite

Excellent news, thanks for sharing it.

What, I wonder, made them attach the fuselage to the upper wing? Was it a visibility issue?

I always wondered why the fighter had its gear down when the combination was on the ground. Were the systems linked perhaps?

The thing that really shocked me about the search for the missing yacht crew was that once the search aircraft were in the approximate area of the Atlantic Ocean the ‘search’ seemed to consist entirely of the crew looking out of the windows!

I guess that if there are no locator beacons working, then there is not much else you can do?

If it’s been detuned to 1100hp, sounds more merlin.

[B]”Flyer I 1903″ had a propeller placed underneath that revolved horizontally!!, according to an article signed Wilbur Wright and published in Feb. 1904

Does that article and signature have generally accepted provenance?
