I wonder if any of the missing “liberated” items from the Dornier have been returned?. I do remember seeing a picture of a complete nose glazing for a Do17Z that had been in a barn in France on this forum sometime back. I think it was posted by Tangmere 1940.

Unlikely to have been ‘liberated’ from this Dornier though?

A correspondent on facebook advises these may be Liberator parts. Given the proximity of RAF Milltown to the site, that seems plausible?

It is quite possible that someone like Westlands would have been tasked with production instead of building Spitfires. Quite possibly Hawkers Hurricane production at Kingston would have been curtailed earlier. There are many possibilities.

No Interceptor type was restricted solely to that task. Had the Typhoon been more successful in the role, they would have just made more of them …

Presumably it went indoors at Cosford some time in the early 1970s? I can remember seeing it there in 1976.
