In the run up to these games, the organisers have been going on about how good these games would be for London.
It doesn’t seem to be the case so far, with hotels and restaurants not
noticing any significant increase in trade. With many saying takings are
actually down.
We also had to suffer incessant horror stories about how London would experience total traffic gridlock; now that it hasn’t happened we get the masterstroke switch to how it’s killing trade. Pity we don’t have a yawning smiley, for these non-subjects.

There must be two Stephen Redgraves, then, because the one, that I saw, said that the eight could have played it safe, and won silver, but he was proud of the way they gave it their all, and it just showed how good the Germans are.
