Well certainly not in:
May 1973 Air Display, Liverpool (Speke) Airport
Nor in June 1982, the penultimate ‘on airfield’ Air Display at Liverpool (Speke) Airport
Maybe I’m missing something, but I think spit1940 was asking about RR299 during filming of Mosquito Squadron, which from memory was 1967/68ish and any mods would probably be gone after five years?
Until this news I didn’t realise this aircraft was named Indy. What’s the story there?
The P-39 flew today: http://mrcaviation.blogspot.com/2019/02/bell-p39-airacobra-42-20341zk-cob-first.html
Two takeaways from this video for me:
– Hangar 10 is a neat place, there can’t be many airfields where you’ll see more 109s/Buchons than Spitfires
– it’s very cool to see Mikael Carlson in a 109/Buchon.
Word I’ve read online that there will be three retrojets, I’m unsure which types they are and what colour scheme.
More than one person has suggested an Imperial Airways HP.42 scheme on an A380. I like that idea!
For anyone interested Paul McSweeny, the boss at Pioneer Aero, has uploaded a new P-39 engine run video:

You people seem to be having far too much fun. I’m even more jealous! It must make the hard work that much easier when you’re in a team that gets along and can have a laugh.
I’m curious about that myself, the Gold Pass experience at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2004 set a very, very high bar for me. When I get to Duxford I’d like to know if it’s worth springing for one there, too.
Jerry Yagen’s P-39 ran yesterday. Very cool news!

Thread back from the dead!
After seeing John Luff’’s example after work at our local airport and then flying over our house not long ago (informative article linked below) I got to wondering: what’s the current worldwide tally of flying Venoms?
Does anyone have any idea what this V12 word might have been?
Do you remember what the word was? I’m unsure whether you’re testing to see if anyone else knows or if you’ve forgotten.
I don’t use any words when I do my Merlin impression, just a lot of mouth movements and teeth clenching!
I’m sure I saw mention recently – here or maybe at WIX – of the FHCAM example looking rather sharp in Luftwaffe camouflage and with Merlins in place. I’d think that would be the next to fly, if any were to.
Which poses a question I wasn’t sure would ever be asked: will we see a Stuka or He111 fly again first?
I’m not sure why it would be AUD!
I certainly agree with that chap at the end. They deserve five or six beers after completing that job to that standard
That particular chap happens to be of the restorers who’s been at it for a while and knows his stuff, it was great to see him on camera again!….and, by pure coincidence, his father made the first post on this page!
For those without Facebook, AvSpecs has uploaded the story to YouTube:

Thanks for the link! I’d missed that.
Jerry’s surname is Yagen.
I’m lost on what the “great news” was as well. As always, though, an enjoyable and informative video.
