It’s interesting news, certainly not where I expected it to go! I’d suggest those behind the website update the first photo to show their new aircraft, as opposed to an original machine owned by someone else :eagerness:
I read over at WIX that it was a 15min flight and the gear was left down.
Some great photos at VAM’s Facebook page. Congratulations to all involved!
Lovely job, what a great insight.
Fantastic to see! Bravo to all involved.
Unfortunately I got an email saying my pledge didn’t go through due to my card, but please rest easy team – my commitment will come through Thursday at latest!
Congrats on the outstanding result!
Apologies folks! Not sure why I thought it an M.
I was going to suggest it was that one, Andy. Hopefully it’s back in the air soon – I don’t know if it flew after its accident a while back.
By my count that leaves Allan Arthur’s ex-RNZAF M, the Pay family’s ex-RNZAF E and Judy Pay’s F flying in Oz?
Great job, team! It’s wonderful to see such a big hunk of the machine progressing so well.
Got my copy, one word: SPECTACULAR! A must-buy for any Mossie fan.
I’ve seen a ton of shots from the weekend at Virginia Beach, looks like it was one heck of a show!
Wikipedia seems to think it is WkNr.1160: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do17#Dornier_Do_17Z_Werknummer_1160
I always enjoy seeing photos of this machine as it looks so close to completion! It gives me a tingle to see it sitting on its gear in a hangar.
I look forward to seeing progress, regardless of engine fit or restoration standard.
Lovely work! This is a very special project and I’m excited to follow its progress.
The photos of the two together….wow. Oustanding shots! Thank you very much for sharing.
Cash pledged 🙂 All the best and I can’t wait to follow progress!
I have a CD-ROM copy of Mignet’s book….be careful, you may yet inspire me!
