Well spotted wys. I thought the downward control surfaces were just the result of a lazy pilot!

    1. The ATR range is more fuel efficient that the Dash 8, I believe. The Dash 8-300 is only a 50 seater; the larger Q400 is a 70 seater so neither is a true “60 seater”. I’d go for an ATR 72-500 I think.

    2. The F27 is a solid aircraft, but is very old. The latest ones were made in 1982 or 1983, so it is of similar vintage to a 707. The replacement F50 is similar but a bit more advanced.

    3. Personally I like the Beech 1900. The “C” model has stingy headroom, but the ugly “D” model makes up for this. I like the seating layout.

I do find it interesting that the doves on this one are the military men – like Powell. Maybe they know what war can really be like.

Something has to give. There aren’t really any lowcost airlines in the US. I know they have Southwest and Jetblue, but for a country that size it is nothing like enough.

    Complete takeover.

Buzz brand to be scrapped and 146’s to be replaced with 737’s.

Well the the marshaller’s employer’s insurance at any rate. I think your average wand waver would struggle to pay the repair bill for a 747 and an IL-62!

RE: Star Alliance launches new aircraft livery, Asiana Airlines to premiere bold design

Do I see a Star vs. Oneworld debate brewing??

I vote oneworld. Any alliance that counts the same member 3 times (Austrian, Tyrolean, Lauda) loses by default! At least until BA CitiExpress or American Eagle join!!

Hear hear. 2-5-2 is a terrible arrangement. I would absolutely dread being stick in the “5” bit.

    Why couldn’t they do 3-3-3 ?
