Duxford has a longer runway than Sywell so might be more suitable for post restoration test flights. Also is Sywell restrictive on the number of day flying can take place ?

Not sure what your wanting to find but Merryfield is covered by the book “Action Stations 5” It states that 208AFS arrived November 1951, was renamed 10FTS in 1954, changed to 9FTS and disbanded February 1955.
I assume your interest is in Vampire VF300 which crashed (fatal) near Yeovil 11th July 1952
The reference you require is paint number 538 from BS381c. Referred to as Post Office or Cherry red. Model makers who use Hannants Xtracolor paints X031 or Humbrol 174
The roundel blue is number 110 from BS381c
