Yes I think that is the case, but some airlines don;t seem to find it necessary. For example Qantas or Australian Airline didn’t dim the cabin lights on any of our take-offs/landing at night. Really quite annoying, because the glare meant I couldn’t see anything as it was out of the window.
Very nice shot, captainben QF are a fantastic airline. Flew them between Frankfurt and Singapore last month, pleasure to fly with. Cabin crew could have been slightly more happy, but other than that I can’t fault them, Excellent food, and the IFE is also very good.
Its the “Trip Reports” forum… would have thought the name was self explanitory  😉
Well not really, because if I’m popping down to STN it’s more of a visit really. There’s hardly a ‘trip’ to report, unless you want me to include details of the lamp posts and signs i pass on the way
Is this for trip reports as in when you’ve been on a flight, and you’re doing a report on the whole thing?
Or trip reports as in if I’ve been for a trip upto Stansted in the evening, and have come back with a few photos and reg’s?
I totally agree with T5, LBARULES and others alike. It even says ‘photography’ in the forum description….How on Earth can you complain about that?! If it was a trip report in a Cessna cross country, that doesn’t belong here. But the fact that all trip reports are about commercial flights, about different airlines, different airports and different opinions, there should be no problem here either.
If we cut out photos, trip reports, flight sim screenshots and other such threads which you find ‘irrelevant’, what would we post? We’d just be copying and pasting news headlines from other websites. Although it is good for people to share news, it would also be very boring if these were the only threads to read.
And on a side note, don’t all the hours of effort I put into posting photos onto here count too?! 😉
I’m guessing these are the lap joints. Pilots confirm this? This is the same problem with the Ryanair -200’s, and is very common in aircraft. When I visited the FLS hangar, about 1 in 5 planes would be there for lap joint problems.
We only have one terminal at Stansted. Just had our 20 millionth passenger last week, with capacity for another 5 million. They will then need to start further extensions by the looks of things……
So you reckon there’ll be a mosh? One Chilli Peppers song I would like to hear live is Minor Thing, one of my favs of theirs.
I’m gate crashing the Hyde Park one 😉 Sounds good, but you’re probably gonna shout at me if I say that I think they’re over-rated! 😀
Shame about the support…
Just seen the CY330 arrival, looks great! 😀 We now have TCX, BY, EXS and FJE arrivals to look forward to within the next hour.
Very nice, especially that Lauda 736! Looks great in that livery, but then the Lauda livery as a whole isn’t bad either.
That glider looks like a Vigilant of the ATC? Any ideas? I’m probably wrong, haven’t had chance to fly in one yet.
Nice shot, still waiting to catch it at STN! Think we have 2 Onur Air arrivals today, I’ll be keeping a look out 😀
Great shots, no need to be sorry! You can only improve, and there are lots of things you can either pick up through trying more and more, and also taking advice of others (like I did from a lot of the great people on this forum). Is it possible for you to stand on the other side of the planes arriving? Please don’t take this in a bad way, I’m not trying to be picky. But on a couple they look slightly back lit (sun is shining from other side of plane). If you stood on the other side, you may be able to get even better results as the side of the plane will be illuminated more. If it isn’t possible, don’t worry they’re still very good. Just a bit of friendly advice 🙂
Here are a couple of mine. First one is back-lit. Next isn’t. Compare the difference.
Lovely skies here this morning, lots around! Saw the China Airlines Cargo 747-400 arrival into STN a short while ago. Not much else of interesting into STN at the moment, a string of Ryanair’s and Easyjet’s then a Euromanx. Lots of Lisbon departures though, might try and head down this evening to see if there’s much of interest. Had an Aeroflight earlier, shame was too early for me to go and catch it. I’m also getting ready looking out my window to see the scheduled Cyprus A330 from Larnaca and the Flyjet from Nice.
Flying overhead this morning I have seen a Monarch A321 new cs from LTN, a couple of BA 747’s from LHR and several SAS’s. In the stack for LHR a number of short haulers and North American arrivals, get more of the Long Haul stuff towards the afternoon/evening.
RIPConcorde, there are about 3 or 4 Flyglobespan arrivals today. Looks like they’ve got a fairly solid charter timetable set up here now, with arrivals from Nice, Figari and Calvi.
