I’ve vowed never to fly on a DC10 again, and to this day I have kept my promise. 😮 😀
You could hold me to that too! My worst flight ever was AOM French Airlines on a DC-10, air conditioning not working (we were in bloody Cuba for christ sake!) and the whole flight in general was just a joke. As you said, wires between the panels and it was a tip! Unless it was a ‘proper’ airline (which isn’t gonna happen, seeing as most airlines operating DC-10’s are now third world and there are barely any charter versions around anymore) I don’t think I’d like to fly one again. MD-11 however, is another story!
Great shots, particularly like the 146 and the BA 737-400 in World Tails. I like any picture of a plane wearing world tails 😀
I think mine would have to be Malaysia Airlines (maybe not so special internationally, but domestic) on a 737 and Fokker 50.
Another would be AOM French airlines on a DC-10, between Gatwick and Havana, possibly my worst set of flights ever 🙁
And out of all the hundreds of wing views of taken, probably this one! I just love it how the sun appears to be emerging from the clouds, eventhough it was sunset.
Hmm, difficult decision. I have to go for these 2, the first for sentimental value. Taken on the final day of Concorde whilst they all parked up for the press. The other one I think is just one of the best shots I’ve taken in terms of quality. And you have to admit, it’s a great livery!
Remember, these are compressed. If you wanna see them properly, you’ll be able to see them at my jetphotos link below (Ignore the planepictures one, cant be bothered with them anymore!).
I have an IC-A3E. It’s quite an expensive bit of kit (about £300-350) but worth it if you’re serious about it. I can usually pick up LTN and LCY transmissions, both are situated about 30 miles from here. And of course for STN things, it’s perfect 😀 I also get London Control to listen to all the LHR outbounds going over my house, and get to pick up all the Cathay’s, JAL’s and SAS’s etc.
Nice shots of those military things by the way……especially of the Tucano (I’m quite sure that’s what it is!)
Ahh ok, dont worry I wasn’t accusing you of getting it wrong! Actually still does look a bit like a W in that close-up……….but anyhow, yep that’s the one I flew on! 😀
Great report Andy, shame about the disruptions and the problems on the flight home  Glad it was still a good day, and nice shots! Isn’t it nice to see the Landor livery for real these days?! Cant decide whether I like it more than the current one…..
Great shots, but isn’t that TCX G-JMCD? If so, I flew on that aircraft to Arrecife (with wys at the controls!) back in June last year.
Hmm, the cables are the key I’m afraid. Unless you go out and buy a new memory card reader, which will plug in via your pc.
Great report, I know what you mean about the engine being in the way after my recent Malaysia Airlines F50 flight! Does your camera have a connection which links it from the camera through a lead directly to the USB port in the computer?
On my camera I simply have a lead which I plug in from the camera to the USB port in the computer, then (with a memory card inside the camera) turn the camera on, the computer will notice something has been plugged in and then you can get your shots.
A new livery would be like giving away their world-known brand away. They have got to the point where anything that colour is associated in people’s minds straight away with Easyjet, to change it would be throwing away all they have worked for over all these years.
Yes, this one 😀 IGOA
I would prefer to stay out of this argument, simply because I do not have a strong enough opinion on the facts to argue. But one thing I want to say is how many things in the aviation industry are hidden. And not always on purpose. Take a look at the corrosion on this ex-Go aircraft I took from the FLS hangar. The week before this had been flying passengers, it was only because it was due for a C-check that they found the corrosion. And I’m not turning this anti-EZY either, I’m just highlighting how you may never know what’s happening behind the scenes, no matter who the airline is.
This is at the joint between the elevator and the fuselage.
