Yay, congratulations! 😀 Think I’m about another 100 away, just over. Should get there soon!
Probably a sensible idea to keep it here actually, it’ll get invaded by certain people (no names, but I’m sure you can guess) if it’s put on the GD board.
Sorry it’s a bit late, but all the very best Ian! Since I joined these forums I have seen many informative, interesting and quality posts from you. It must feel quite upsetting knowing you are un-likely to ever fly a 757 again, but from here on it’ll only get better!
After September, I will be dropping MAN for BHX. We booked our flights from MAN-BRU last year, then in December we booked a day trip from BHX-BRU for March, and after my visit in March to BHX, I was totally hooked on the place! I spent hours in the Aviation Experience (something MAN could learn from – provide a spotting area where everyone can access it, and not just those with bloody cars!!) I cannot wait for November, and our holiday flights next year to BRU will be from BHX and not MAN.
I’m quite sure MAN has a large outdoor aviation park which provides un-beatable views and photographic oppurtunities. Am I not right?
Nice shots! That SAA looks great, shame it couldn’t have been Ndizani! Sun glare can be really annoying at the best of times, makes sunset shots very hard! 🙁
Absolutely fantastic pictures! Especially like the CSA in that livery, I’ve been going up to STN quite a lot of evenings recently in hope of catching it. I always see it over my school or house, but never see it when I’m actually there to take a picture of it! I will catch it, one day soon 😀
I think their new -300 is G-IGOC, ex-Easyjet/Go. Is now under going freighter conversion in the US.
We had this shot quite a while ago on here as a caption competition! Please forgive me if I’m wrong, but I think Bmused was the winner, with something like ‘Michael Jackson denies further plastic surgery’. 😀 😉
robbelc: The best time to catch STN is the evning in the Summer when it stays light til late. Between 7 and 9pm it gets a lot more interesting, with various Shorts 360’s, JAl Cargo 747, NCA Cargo 747, UPS 767, ChannexA300, Air Contractors A300 and ATR, charters including BY 757, FCA A321 and MON 757 etc. Try it, if you can!
Tony: Thanks! Hmm I’m not sure, who and where would I send it to?! I think they are fairly well established now, if the magazines wanted them they’d probably pick them out on sites such as jetphotos.net where I have them displayed.
Thanks a lot T5 and Charley B! No, keep the DC-10’s flying!
I was thinking that. In that case then, must be a charter? Possibly some sort of city break tour company chartering them this summer.
Thanks a lot EAL and LBARULES! I’m taking a ride upto STN in an hour or so to see what’s going on up there, (hopefully) more pics to follow!
Ok obviously I’ve had to bring the quality down a bit so I can fit it on here, but you should be able to see the difference. Lot less grain.
Full size, un-edited version (Raw) if you can, please!
Yeah ok then, daniel_nicholson2000@yahoo.com 🙂
