Believe it or not they are actually saving money. They’re only re-painting the planes after they’ve been in for things such as maintenance checks, and rather than spending money on all those dark colours they are replacing it with a mainly ‘euro-white’ scheme instead.

Why do you need to know? Are you coming down here on that day or summin? If you’re just wondering on what you might see, I can tell you as it’s only 4 miles down the road…..

Yep they are based down here at STN. On a visit to Stn you are likely to see most of their fleet in the day. They have a Kingair aswell, and a number of 146’s. One of their 146’s is in a black/cream VIP livery. Last time I was up there, ZAPM was operating under an EZY callsign.

Woah does anyone know anything else about this photo/airport/airline? I’m intrigued!

Not too bad really, nothing about it draws my attention though. Quite similar to the old one.

Well done Britannia, you’re catching up with me quite fast! I personally like the ‘1982 image makeover’ and it is still nice to see the odd aircraft in these colours today.

Great pictures Andy, particularly the one of the Jag climbing away!:D Did you have to use much zoom to get pics like that? As I’d really like to go to DUB and attempt pics such as that, but I don’t think I have enough zoom (3X optical) on my camera to do it.

Well I think we could kinda see this coming, but it is very bad news for Charleroi. I don’t think the EU are doing themselves any favours at this time, especially when the Airline Business is still slowly picking up after Sept 11th.

Thanks for the comment Michael. Yep I think that’s the idea that a lot of people get when Stansted is mentioned! As you can see from that list though, a very large majority of the aircraft are Ryanair, but there are still a fair few others to break them up and make it more interesting.

Thanks for all those times Dan! I’ll have to wait til the Easter holidays when hopefully it’ll be a bit brighter. I saw the 11:55 arrive today at school, really nice livery!

My Aunty and Uncle and cousins now live in a tiny village called Albury, you have probably heard of it. The aircraft on approach and departing Stansted fly right over their house! We ate out at an Indian restaurant in Stortford one night. Can’t remember what it was called Shirona or something?? you may know!
I was at Stansted late afternoon, going by you’r age I don’t think you were there, I’m 16 by the way.
I guess it must have been the MD11 I saw taking off when I was coming back from Duxford! 🙂
I can thank your local for allowing me to see my first MD11 and DC8! 🙂 when I flew in.
Flew in on 13th out on 17th on Easyjet. The terminal building, I have to say is very impressive! 🙂
It won’t be the last time I’m down, I expect I’ll be down in the summer!

I’m glad you like it! I may be biased as it is the airport I’ve grown up around, and is less than 5 miles down the road, but I think that the terminal is one of the best around. I think the Indian restaurant you are talking about is Shadona’s, which is literally about 2-3 mins on foot from my house! I was there the other weekend for a friend’s birthday. And yes I know Albury aswell, I have been on may bike rides through the surrounding woods and the Hadham’s.
