Perhaps one of the best i the bunch, Syrian Air 747SP YK-AHA
Air Jamaica A340 6Y-JMM
Air India 747 VT-ESM
‘Ndizani’ again with Cathay Pacific behind
First photo…. this is how close you get to the planes parked up near the BA hangars, here is the tail of ‘Ndizani’
Matthew, that is almost exactly what I am hoping to do. I’m going to do Maths and Physics at A-Level, then go and do a degree in aeronautics. It is one of the hardest degrees to do, but is well worth it in the end. If I do a masters degree it will be a 4 year course, with a gap year in between where I get the chance to go and experience aeronautical work with someone like Virgin or BA.
I was hoping to do this because although my ultimate aim was to be a pilot, if all goes wrong then it leaves me something to fall back on, and I could go and work for someone like Airbus or Boeing.
Great minds think alike 😀
After looking back at my registartions from STN on the 02/09/03 I have also noted a few other ones that were lost in the original competition:
LN-KKN Norwegian Air Shutlle 737-300
9G-MKO MK Airlines DC-8 60F
OO-TAJ TNT 146-300QT
G-TCAP BAe Systems 125-800B
Sounds good Martin. I’m looking forward to seeing it! How are we gonna ‘advertise’ the website so that other spotters other than those on these forums get chance to see it?
An intersting one there. just looking at that site (myaviation.net) I read on their homepage about them not rejecting photos. At first I thought that this could be a bad thing that they are just relying on the photographer to upload good photos, as you could get people taking advantage of it, but looking through some of the photos it seems as if people have respected the idea and there are so0me very nice photos on there.
lol
A330 has told me to put these on here aswell. They were on the last comp. but got lost:
Al-Anwa Establishment 727-2U5 HZ-AB3 (STN 02/09/03)
Safair C-130 Hercules ZS-RSI (STN 02/09/03)
He Sheikh Mustafa 737-2K5 (STN 02/09/03)
Execujet Scandinavia Learjet 60 OY-LJF (STN 02/09/03)
Saudi Arabian L1011 HZ-HM6 (LHR 01/09/03)
Saudi Arabian MD-11 HZ-AFA1 (STN 05/09/03)
Saudi Arabain 747SP-68 HZ-AIF (STN 05/09/03)
They’re all the good ones I can find
Fortunately for me the aircraft have been flying over my school again today, leaving me a bit of chance to spot some planes between lessons. Here is what I can remember, aside from probably 15 or 20 Ryanairs and Easyjets:
2 Buzz 146
1 Global Supply Systems 747-400F
1 Asiana Cargo 747-400F
1 FedEx MD-11
1 Britannia 757-200 (old cs)
1 Britannia 757-200 (new cs)
1 Air Berlin 737-400
1 CSA 737-500 (anniversary cs)
1 Private 757-2J4 N770BB
1 Thomas Cook A320
2 Ryanair 737-300 (hybrid Buzz cs)
All week the planes at STN have been on RWY 23, meaning that they turn just before they get to my school and so i miss them. However, this afternoon, whilst sitting in Spanish, they changed to 05, meaning that they land low over my school. In the ‘exciting’ hour, this is everything that I can remember:
8 Ryanair 738’s (including 2 in new livery)
2 Ryanair 732’s (including Kilkenny)
1 FedEx MD-11
1 Eastern Airways Jetstream 41
3 Easyjet 733’s
1 Buzz 146
1 European Aviation 732
Gulfstream IV N404LM
From my house over past hour or so:
1 CSA 737-500
2 Ryanair 738 (new cs)
4 Ryanair 738
2 Buzz 146
5 Easyjet 737-300
1 Malaysian 744 (flying into Heathrow)
1 BA A320 (from Heathrow)
1 BA 767 (going into Heathrow)
1 Britannia 757 (old cs)
1 Tryolean Jet Service OE-HTJ Do 328-300
1 BA 757 (from Heathrow)
1 Emirates 777-300 (flying into heathrow)
I would absolutely love to take up the oppurtunity, unfortunaely I’m only 15 in March 2004. A few more years yet but I should get there some day. How often do you get sponsorships like this?
Does anyone know where that ATP may have came from? Had anyone else seen it that day (this Saturday, the 20th) It has really been making me wonder, as there have been no announcements of any new BA flights and it is the second one I have seen recently.
