I was taking photos at STN last Thursday too, just for an hour before I headed of to work (in the terminal). The An-124 arrived, along with FedEx and a few Air Berlin’s, but none departed in the time I was there. So unfortunately, these are the only photos I was left with, all looking a bit crappy with the compression and rushed editing (hope you don’t mind me using your thread!).

Seems to be frozen at the mo.
That’s my site. I’ve been having bandwidth issues for a while lately and so they keep on freezing me, I’m trying to sort it out at the moment.
Excellent report Mark! Will look forward to catching up on msn.
I flew N339AA from JFK-LAX on 28/03 last year.
Great stuff! Matt and FP, what are you doing about accommodation? We’re in the “Teide” booked through EZY hotels.
I’m going to book-up with flyglobespan, more expensive but just one-flight to worry about 😛
@Dan – I trust you will be keeping up for those 15 rounds then? 😀
Keep us updated Matt!
Course I’ll be keeping up…although I will probably be dancing like a prat by then 😀
Excellent shots! Can’t wait to pass through LAX in a couple of weeks.
Cheers gb. None of us are actually old enough to hire a car. Are there any nearby resorts where we could get a taxi, and then walk from? And is this the only spot you recommend? Looking on airliners.net it seems that there are quite a big selection of vantage points where people have got shots from.
Has gone up slightly since I looked, now £119, still very good, and I am definitly considering!
3 days of flying…spotting….photographing….and most importantly getting slaughtered in the night clubs of Majorca! Tempted yet? :p
Good to see us recruiting now with Tom booked!
I’m also interested, though flights seem very expensive for some reason.
The only semi decent fare ive found is Thomsonfly from MAN for £106 which is a very good price.
That’s a bloody good fare Tom!
I’ll be up for this, I’ll have a look at prices then get back to you 🙂
I’ll like the drinking terms, I trust you will be purchasing the first round? 😀
And you the following 15 or so rounds?! 😀
Ok, so far:
Me : Booked
RIPConcorde : Booked
Future Pilot : Very Interested
GAZGLA : Interested – thinking
PMN : Interested
Bambi… 😮
Bambi… 😮
I flew them a couple of years back. But only on short sectors, from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu (Malaysian Borneo) and then back again.
I was very impressed, no difference really between the QF product. If anything, the meals we got on Australian were better than those on QF. One of our flights was even in a QF liveried aircraft, so legroom etc is all the same.
Last week (I was looking at cheap fares to Belfast a few days ago, for the Summer), the cheapest fare I could find was about £45 on EZY. This seems pretty high, for an airline with no service, and one that flies into BFS which is miles out of the city. Last year, you could get EZY tickets to BFS for about £30. Other fares were over £50 on Bmi, or around the same on Flybe.
Air Berlin have now come in with a £38 fare, cheaper than EZY. Not to mention that Air Berlin have a complimentary service, and fly practically into the city centre!
