Excellent stuff there, I can’t wait to get back to BHX in slightly more favourable weather than when I was there last time.

Hmm I’m going with A320. The forward part of the fuselage doesn’t look long enough to be that of an A321.

We can post detailed directions of how to get to the roof-top nearer the time for the people who don’t know it particularly well. But it pretty much involves following signs for the short-stay car park, and then getting on the lift all the way to the top floor (13). I don’t mind, either waiting for Stuart and Matt in the arrivals area, or all just head up to the roof-top by our own accord and meet people there.

I’ll need to think of something to make myself identifiable….it was funny the first time I met Mark L last Summer at BFS I was missing an eyebrow and had a broken foot! It took him a few seconds of staring me in the face in the middle of the airport, before introducing himself ‘ah you must be Dan, you’ve got one eyebrow’ 😀

I’m planning on dying my hair purple at some point….that might work :diablo:

Interesting angle, especially as the controls indicat that the aircraft is actually in a climbing turn to the left?

    Regards,

Just what I was looking at. As far as I can see, he’s just rotated his camera 90 degrees clockwise. Just using the ‘airshow display’ as an excuse to say that it was actually diving in such a way. Don’t hold me to it, but that’s how it appears anyhow.

Ill spot anywhere, though I have never been round to the southside…

Have been discussing with Kev. I guess it’s mainly upto T5 and A330Crazy as they were the one who proposed the meet originally. But we were thinking it’d make sense to start the day off on the roof top, because people arrive at different times and we can congregate there before planning the rest of the day.

The South side would be great, but it may prove difficult with getting there (I suppose there’s always the possibility of a taxi….between 4 of us in each taxi wouldn’t cost much).

Visit the AVP sometime towards the afternoon when the sun comes round for photos (take full advantage of opurtunities to get so close to the aircraft, it doesn’t happen at many other airports). And then if they’re on 24L the pub.

Something like that anyway, we’ve got a while to finalise it. And give chance for A330Crazy and T5 to have their input.

Wow, excellent. Must have been a very popular one amongst pilots. Everything looks so well planned, and put in place just right…

Good to hear. Neil, I’ve been looking through your photos on planepictures.net of AWZK, and can’t believe how simple the cockpit appears! Is that the same as it was the day it bowed out of service? Because if so, it seems to put some other aircraft to shame. For example, MD-82:

Just home from my Chemistry exam. Wasn’t too bad, most of the good stuff came up. Although I had to rush to finish it, so I don’t think the last couple of questions went very well.

6 exams left now, and no more for this week. Chill time 😀

Excellent! I’m not very good when it comes to MAN locations. Is the airport hotel near ‘the pub’? Shall have to plant ourselves there in the evening after a visit to the AVP in the afternoon of meet. Any ideas for the morning? Suppose we can gather on the roof-top as a meeting place…

How’s everyone doing? I’m down to my last 7 exams now, having done 11 since the start. Had Geogaphy today which I felt went surprisingly well after a whole 30 minutes of revision. The best feeling ever, was walking out of my last English exam last Friday. Never, ever, have to study it again! 😀

Tomorrow I have Chemistry which I’m not really prepared for, just trying to revise about 50 pages of work at the moment and not much is going in.

“An acid reacted with a base will produce a salt + water. An acid with a metal will produce a salt + hydrogen. An acid with a Carbonate will produce a salt + carbon dioxide + water. An alkali is a base which can dissolve in water”

That’s what I’ve been trying to drum into my head for the last half hour!

5 more exams next week, then 1 more the week after. Not long now…

You’ve got your college day anyway I remember you telling me?

That is the week of my sixth form induction, but I found out last week that I’ll only be required to attend from the 3rd-5th and 7th. July. Which meant it would have fit in nicely! Ah well..
