Yep heat haze is definitely an issue, but they’ve come out good all the same.

When heat haze is playing up, the only thing you can do really is to avoid zooming in as much as possible. The more you zoom, the more of an issue it becomes. Best to zoom out and try and fill the frame when the plane approaches.

Funnily enough, just the Canon 75-300 f/4-5.6 USM III. Hopefully go for something better by the end of the year.

Nice ones there Grey, for some reason I think that Palmair 732 actually looks pretty good. Used to hate the things, now I can hardly contain myself when I see one on approach!

Cheers Tom and LFC, appreciate it. Over this week I wont post any more STN threads, but will instead do a weekly update at the end of the week. Unless anything particularly amazing/interesting happens.

Nice shots, the Do328 always looks a bit odd.

Thanks very much everyone! I think the Tupolev was my favourite shot taken with the 350D so far. Could hardly contain my excitement when I saw it at the holding point!

I will shortly be making a thread for STN pics, which I’ll just update as I go along. People might start to get bored/fed-up with loads of STN threads all over the place.

Wheel retraction

Even the Ryanair livery looks good in this light

Great looking livery, rocketing skywards

Love the way the fuselage is reflected in the wings

This had to be the longest touchdown I’d ever seen. It kept it’s nose up for atleast a third of the runway!

Couple of this one looking nice as she taxies past

And finally…not sure where this was going

Thanks very much everyone! As promised, here’s the ones from tonight. I specifically went up to see 5 that were due in, however in the time that I was there only 2 turned up 🙁 Here’s what i caught anyway…

You had departures yesterday, so thought I’d go for arrivals today…

Sorry about the bad sharpening on the 2nd Eastern J41 shot. The photo was so detailed that re-sizing it to 1024 pixels distorts the lines. Only works at 1200 pixels wide. As you could guess, the 727 was my fave 😀
