East,?…is that landing from over the fields?? Maybe a 40% chance I could get there? 🙁
From East = landing on RWY26L. Over the fields? Well last time I looked there were fields all over the place, but I suppose the 08R end has more fields ;). 26L (from East) is the terminal end.
When they’re on 08R there is a pub near the approach where there is plenty of space to park, and then it’s just a short walk round (less than 0.5 mile) to the holding point. From there you can get a good look at the aircraft at the holding point, and the approaching aircraft.
Does anyone know of anywhere to park when they’re on 26L? Other than the (expensive) short term car parking.

A B-2 would make sense, they have lots around in that area. Whilst flying in the other direction the week before, we had a very close encounter with another B-2. When I enquired with the pilots at the end of the flight, it turned out it was flying just 1500ft right beneath us.

Nice ones there, did you take the reg on the AA?

I’m flying on my first 777 in just short of 2 weeks LHR/JFK and then two weeks after that BOS/LHR on the 777 again. I’m really looking forward to it, however, our seats are not window seats on either sector – we just got in too late with reserving our specific seats
That’s a shame, but not as bad as it would be on any other wide body aircraft. The specially designed cabin interior makes it feel like there’s twice the room, compared to most other wide body aircraft. It’s great, because the ceilings are so high. It deosn’t feel like you’re cramped with all the air-conditioning and reading lights right above your head.

That’d do rather nicely – if you’re not in a hurry, but what’s the rush, huh?
Can you imagine the look on the check-in agent’s face though? :p
They gave me enough funny looks when I checked in for LHR-JFK-LAX-HNL. They seemed to think most sane people would fly straight to LA from London.

I took this over Nevada the other day. At first I was excited thinking it was an SR-71, but I was informed they no longer fly. Any ideas? Maybe a B-1 or something.. (sorry, I know it’s not very clear)

If you wanted some real fun you could do:
GOT-CPH SAS MD80
CPH-FRA SAS MD80
FRA-BCN Lufthansa A319
returning:
BCN-FRA Lufthansa A319
FRA-CPH SAS A321
CPH-GOT SAS MD90
That costs about £219 :p
