Tomorrow I am going straight from school to meet a certain girl at the train station (that doesn’t sound quite right!), before we head off to the sights and sounds of Brixton. From there I will be heading over to the excellent Brixton Academy for what is sure to be a very good gig (Taking Back Sunday/My Chemical Romance). I shall then come home, hopefully. If trains catch me out I will probably spend a night in some random place in London, most likely a bench. Friday morning I’ll be up for work at the call centre, although being deaf and losing my voice is not likely to help.

Saturday evening over to someone’s house for a mini party, in other words blast out lots of music and consume alcohol. Sunday I’m working again, although by that point I’ll probably be crashed out on a street somewhere. Ah the joy! 😀

I flew on from SIN with Australian, what a difference considering both airlines are in the same stable.

Could it be that QF cc consider themselves Prima Donna
and the minions on AO try harder.?

Both experiences were akin to chalk and cheese – AO
served the cheese and QF the chalk.. IMHO 🙁

I flew AO from SIN, and was too very impressed with them. Certainly higher than my expectations. I couldn’t really notice a difference in the two, other than on QF I obviously had a better IFE as it was long-haul on a 744. Other than the obvious differences (1 flight being 2 hours, the other 11 hours) I could fault neither.

Wow, surprising to read this. I felt the absolute opposite after my trip last May. BA was an absolute joke in my opinion. The cabin crew just didn’t seem to care, and service was very laid back. Qantas on the other hand was fantastic, lovely food, friendly and professional cabin crew, and an all round excellent service. Would certainly choose to fly them again if I was given the chance.

So is Waikiki beach set right in the heart of Honolulu with all it’s offices and buildings, or is it slightly out-of-town? Sorry for all the questions, it’s just that we’re going to be spending a large sum of money to get that far and so don’t want to make a big mistake in the place that we choose etc. Also by shopping we mean the typical American style huge malls. Is this the kinda thing you find out there, or is the shopping more in the sense of rows of shops on busy high streets?

Thanks very mcuh for the info, very helpful (was getting worried we’d have to spend more money on visas etc)

Sorry I should have elaborated when I said ‘recommend’. Basically the situation is this:

I’m going with my dad. We both like somewhere to relax and do things such as snorkelling and boat trips with a good beach, but then when we’ve had enough of that we like to do a bit of lively stuff like shopping, and some sightseeing. This is why I thought Waikiki beach? It’s got nice waters (as far as I can tell?) to do snorkelling and swimming, but then there’s also shopping around for when we’ve had enough of that. Then you’ve also got places like Pearl Harbour for sightseeing etc. Would I be right in thinking this is a good choice, or is there somewhere which fits in with our holiday ‘needs’ that you’d recommend better than Waikiki?

    Fire-Hendrix 😀

Can The Clash be included? If so then I Fought The Law. I know it’s simple…..but there’s just something about it.

Would also like to include Alice Cooper-Poison.

I’m a cold caller for a company that shall remain anonymous. Please, register with TPS! I’d rather you do that than have to get a ear-full each time I call someone who doesn’t want to be called. It’s not my fault, this is how I earn my money. Our boss sets the rules, surely you would do what your boss tells you too (if you didn’t want to get sacked that is)? And also a little politeness doesn’t do much harm. If someone tells us to p*ss off, then their name will remain on the list and be called again (not mine, but company policy). If you’re polite I will quite happily give you a free-phone number for the TPS service.

That aside, don’t think that by slamming the phone down or shouting at us will really affect us and stop us calling. I make hundreds of calls (probably around 500) a week and about 400 of them hang up on me. You kinda get used to the fact, I’m not gonna cry about it!

Now time to wait for the whole forum to turn against me and send hate mail…. :diablo:

Amazing what you can do with a press pass to get airside and find a spot with none of the usual obstacles in your way to get a photo  :p

I’ll see what I can do about next Monday (13th) with regards to meeting at STN. We’re gonna need a taxi though to do any proper spotting….unless you fancy a 1 hour trek from the terminal to approach fields (bloody new road system).
