Thanks very much, greatly appreciated. I have just found my next trip once I have the money……STN-CGN rtn on Germanwings for around £26 inc taxes. Anyone else used them or been to CGN? If I get flights this winter, looks like I could get a chance on the 717 they are leasing 😀

Thank you very much everybody for the kind comments. I’m just trying to find more cheap flights at the moment, for another similar trip….Malmo looks interesting.

It’s always possible with Ryanair, but I sure hope it is a bit more than a rumour! It was only yesterday I spent a day spotting and photographing in a cheap FR destination, Malta would be even better 😀

And finally, a couple of long exposure shots. First one of an ATR taking off, secondly of the terminal lit up. Hope you enjoyed ’em!

And again, they’re coming out in the opposite order

You’ll just have to read what I say, then scroll up from the bottom of the post. Here we have some of the airport action….and a quick shot of our plane after de-boarding.

Then we have the Russian Defence Yak-42, very nice.

The rest are various airport movements, with the last one being our plane taking off home to Stansted.

Ok, those last 3 decided to come out in the opposite order. This next series of shots are taken from the approach and landing, and a very interesting one at that.

First shot turning towards sunrise straight after take offm note the ground fog laying in the meadows below.

Second showing the sunrise again over the Thames Estuary, and the third an oil refinery as seen from about 6000ft.

There were no in-flight shots due to a thick layer of cloud right across Europe, but I have some from the approach into Genoa.
