Welcome to my world mate 🙂

BGS have an excellent reputation for Ground School, Im going with them in the new year, also if you are looking for modular CPL then Oxford may not be the best place to go, Ive heard alot of horror stories how their integrated students get 1st offer on the planes available etc leaving the modular guys unable to fly (unverified facts by the way) ( I have nothing against Oxford what so ever)
Bristol Flying Centre have an excellent reputation, they have trained pilots for BA & Emirates there in the past and may still do now and again although I havent seen any there for a small while, everyone who goes there say they are fantastic, give them a call mate when you get close to doing your CPL
Speak to Joe (The Fridge) Mcgrath on 01275 474501, he was a radio presenter on our local radio station before joining Bristol bless him.
Any other info you want on them shout me up and I’ll try and answer it as best I can

    Cheers Dean,

I have decided to go with BGS, they are getting good reviews from everyone I speak to.

I’ll keep the flying centre in mind as well.

How many hours do you have just now? Good luck.

P.S. If you don’t mind me asking, how much do you think you’ll spend all in?

After speaking to my instructor, I have decided to go for the ATPL exams rather than just the CPL.

If all goes well I should have the exams done before March – April ’06 and at the same time finish off my CPL – I/R. I shall then go looking for a job.

The strange thing is by my expectation going from PPL to fATPL it is going to cost £34,000. I’m sure this will start climbing!!!!

I have just finished my Night rating and I am now going for my IMC, not only does it build your hours up but you’re also learning. I belive it will make the I/R far easier as you will have a grasp of the theory of Instrument Flying.

scallaghan, did you do your CPL with Bristol? I’m just about to start my CPL and would prefer distance learning. What kind of quality is the ATPL course work?

If anybody can recommend any distance learning course please fell free to advise.

    Nice one!

That 737 looks like a toy plane below the 747.
