Kansai has 2 decks with 5 floors.

backlit as you can see but the togs kept snapping away. I’d dread to be a screener if any shots from this day were uploaded!

Cheers Guys, I have some to post from HND and HKG.

Yes caught the Asiana, got a logo jet at HND and a new scheme 747 at HKG.

These places would be superb in colder weather as is just to hazy, the quality of the images just isn’t there. Those landing shots and ones taxing further out are all hit and miss. But you cannot tell until you open up the large version on the PC.

I tried every lens I could get my hands on. The 300mm F2.8 IS was superb but having seen a guy at Kansai with one shooting the aircraft and he was always changing TC’s.
I’ve got some test shots from the shop with the 300mm at ISO 400 handheld 1/30 and they are razor. However I shoot more gigs now than I do sports so I came back with a 50mm F1.2L and a gitzo monopod.

So the 70-200 and 100-400 combo lives on for aviation.

The departure out of Haneda was mad, up to about 500ft then whack a hard bank to the right and just keep going! Managed 2 departures one on an ANA767 the other on a JAL A300-605R.

I think it should be law that every airline must have Logojets!

Saw the ANA Universal Studios, ANA Panda, JAL various logos.

The viewing decks were packed with people there to watch the planes

    Hi Drew

Its wasn’t a aircraft spotting trip I was on. I travelled around Japan for 2 weeks doing the tourist thing then flew to Hong Kong. So these are from a brief few hours before my flights. NRT has decks on both terminals. These were the JAL terminal. I may post some from the International terminal later but they are all backlit so didn’t take many. Tokyo Haneda is a good deck, I’ll be posting some from there soon. Maybe a from from Kansai aswell but again that was backlit all day.

Only the oneworld was the 1D the rest were the 30D.

Had the 30D with the 100-400 and the 1Dmk2n with the 70-200 F2.8 IS L as the 1.3x and 70 gave me a wider scope for the closer ones.

NRT deck was OK, Haneda was better, will post some from there after I’ve done some ANA and overseas at NRT. Then there will be some HKG images. I’ll be all year editing all this images.

cannot know then mate, bad cdx or not. ISO200 not too bad. Your panning choice was good, lets more light in with slower speeds.

Looks like I made a wise decision on not going due to bad wx.

    Ian…your friendly .aero screener 😉

SINGAPORE AIRLINES is much larger and the crest its a little larger, compare to an old one and the old titles look tiny!
