That would be nice, Anon. We need them to keep the seatbases from floating off during negative G’s when flown solo.

Pic of the Rhönlerche that sneaked into the workshop for some TLC. It should be out by this Summer if we don’t find something seriously wrong with it. It badly needs air under the wings. It’s been some eight years…

Sagitta in the background – very classy. . .

A Sagitta indeed. New arrival this winter. And a funny one at that, it being fitted with two K8 canopies back-to-back instead of the original teardrop canopy. Something that must appeal to you judging by your forum name…

Out of interest, how many genuine German built Ju52s are there?

    About 23.

    IS-29?

Now go and stand in the naughty corner please, Soggy. Our fine workshop is strictly off-limits to ICA-Brasov engineering 🙂

Some more pics showing the final results. Old seatbase in the back (we’ll retain those, they have been repaired extensively), new one in the front. Quite a neat (and approved) mod that allows some of our team’s 7 foot pilots to recline comfortably behind the windscreen, instead of being battered to death by the slipstream over them…

In the meantime progress has been a bit slow due to other commitments involving wooden aircraft. The red-white aircraft in the back is in the workshop while a new trailer is being fitted out for it, and it has its CofA done. Bonus points for identifying the type. Additionally a Rhönlerche has been pulled in from the cold after 8 years outside. It is in remarkably good shape, and should be flying again this June after some long overdue love and care… Pics to follow!

The 610 Squadron Association would be a good start, at http://www.610squadron.com/

Their website show him serving at Westhampnett Jan/April ’43 (must have flown Spitfire V then).

There is no such thing as ‘too far gone’ for restoration, flying or static. I think the economic justification may be too far gone, but that can be overcome…

There’s but a thin line between work and hobby 😉

Oh for a week with a competent crew, a low loader, a forklift and proper tooling.
