I messed up the exposure on this tailchase at Duxford a couple of years ago so had a play around with some effects to try and get something worthwhile and was quite pleased with the result..

Hi all,
I have been asked by a friend.. if I can find a “APU” in good order, something from a helicopter or the like, just a small APU that is in as good a condition as possible..
does anyone know where to locate such a thing, dealers etc ??

lol
I emailed him last night, although no reply, he has removed it off ebay. I doubt whether he knew as he doesn’t have other aviation gear for sale and his feedback is 100 percent.

Nice one. It makes me mad that a genuine artifact like this has been messed around possibly permanently (by whoever) just to make it more attractive to the gullible..
Saw this, what a price and the postage, better say no more
How blatant is that? 46 Sqn were at Thorney between 1970 and 1975 flying Andovers, hence the Loadies (Loadmasters). You can even see where the 7 was overpainted (badly) with the 4. 😡
Links from a caterpillar track or some kind of agricultural conveyor would be my guess..
The ‘Bracewell’s Ironside’ in green camo paint with custom webbing cracked me up.. I rather liked the new colourful Daleks as well, I thought they had a look of Dyson about them 🙂
New Billy Fiske memorial window..
.. at Boxgrove Priory. Rather stunning I thought.
Darnsarf,
We were there at the same time, Shawbury also as I was TG9 too.
What AATC course were you on?
No idea, I’ll see if I can find out when I get home tonight, there’s a group photo of our course in a drawer somewhere that might help. Anyway Shawbury was followed by stints at Northolt, West Drayton and North Luffenham (really adventurous eh?) and I left the mob in ’82.
Which prompts me to ask when the RAF was first colloquially called The Mob and why?
January the 1st 1975 here, with the (infamous) Cpl Smith as my DI :dev2:
July ’75, I couldn’t remember my DI’s name but now you mention Cpl Smith that rings a bell..
Gibson block then on to Shawbury for AATC trade training. I remember hearing of bedpacks thrown out of windows for being not of the required standard, did it actually happen to anyone here?
Edit – incidentally, the aircraft shown in the photo is quite a famous Gladiator, L7619. It’s illustrated in the Osprey book on Gladiator Aces, but I have’t got that to see the profiles in there

Ask and ye shall receive.. 🙂
