Not military and presumably never delivered.

It still looks really strange with the insignia on the fin, especially in that color scheme.

Want to see a really weird one? Here’s a Zairean Armstrong Whitworth Argosy.

    more questions!

Bulgaria roundel but with a white cross in it. When was this used? Or is it a sort of proposed roundel?

    No question about this:

Mi-8 Hungary with roundel used from 1990 to 1991.

The white crosses mean the aircraft is WFU- withdrawn from use.

    Sri Lanka (different roundels) :

It’s the same roundel, just different bars on each side. This is similar to what the RAF has done with squadron bars on each side of their roundel.

The Alouette 3 is from Gabon but I’m not sure about the Gazelle

Yes, both are from Gabon. Both wear versions of the Presidential Guard badge.

I think the Gripen is the perfect choice for Switzerland, considering all factors. But, looks that’s not going to fly, so to speak. So to me, it looks like the FA-50 is best suited. Or how about the JF-17? 😀

I was at New Sarum in about ’83 and there was a vampire on guard then. The new Majority rule government of that great humanitarian Robert Mugabe had recently taken over and changed all the place names to “De colonialise” the map but seemed to miss new Sarum entirely.

First national ruler to govern with a case of full-blown Alzheimer’s. Don’t know how else to explain his descent into utter madness.

Does this mean a condescending “no”, or are you jealous that you didn’t think of it first?

always? just 50 years ago, the US’ biggest ally in Asia was its main opponent.. and one if it’s allies in Asia, is now it’s biggest rival. Hell, 50 years from now, who knows.. US sides with the Gulf States and fight with Europe?

Exactly- you hit the nail right on the head.
