another rare one from Iraq. A sikorsky S51!

Very odd and unusual- thanks! Never knew they used this one.
I suggest getting that stick out of your rear end 🙂 .
Oh, ok- got it. Thought you were being serious about the “Good Korea” thing!

Some nice photos from Best Korea!
Look, we don’t want some moron calling that trash dump “Best Korea” on these threads. Call it North Korea or quit posting. And, one more thing- the first picture I saw was of that porky, ignorant lug-nut that’s currently in charge. That’s not a “nice photo”, that’s a traumatic experience.
Frist Iraqi Air Force F-16D.
What the heck is that? A new roundel?
I am translating my website into English and have it updated at the same time. It will take a lot of time for it will be done. A few countries are ready and published. The Dutch version is still up to date!

A question about Angola: What is the most recent one. Are they still using the one with the star or not.
No star in the current roundel.
Barbados ??? a surprise !! ;http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?114717-Metro-Barbados-!
The one with the black-white-red stripes is from Trinidad and Tobago. The one with the shark mouth is from the Caribbean Regional Security System, an international agreement for the defense and security of the eastern Caribbean region. The Regional Security System was created out of a need for collective response to security threats, which were impacting on the stability of the region in the late 1970s and early 1980s. On 29 October 1982 four members of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States—namely, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines—signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Barbados to provide for “mutual assistance on request”. The signatories agreed to prepare contingency plans and assist one another, on request, in national emergencies, prevention of smuggling, search and rescue, immigration control, fishery protection, customs and excise control, maritime policing duties, protection of off-shore installations, pollution control, national and other disasters and threats to national security. Saint Kitts and Nevis joined following independence in 1983, and Grenada followed two years later after Operation Urgent Fury, a combined U.S. and RSS invasion of the country. The MOU was updated in 1992 and the system acquired juridical status on 5 March 1996 under the Treaty which was signed at St. Georges, Grenada. The RSS initially started as a U.S. instrument to combat the spread of Communism in the Caribbean region. As of 2001, the RSS further cooperates with the CARICOM Regional Task Force on Crime and Security (CRTFCS).
The Best updates aviation roundels site is
http://www.aircraft-insignia.com/ –
this is by the peerless John Cochrane who wrote the best book on aircraft roundels in 1998 published by Airlife
The site is updated with new roundels from Libya etc – check it out
And he has a new edition coming out at the end of this month, greatly expanded. It should be fantastic!
Let’s continue with Paraguay :
Tucano :
Caravan :
That doesn’t look like a standard Paraguayan roundel on the Caravan. Maybe I’m going blind, but might it be a variant with the yellow star in the center?
Sorry, J.V. ; correction for your (Botswana) Trislander ; read it yourself here ;

The caption on the photo is erroneous. The aircraft is from Botswana; A2 is that country’s registration prefix.
False rumor, that Mi-28 is not Iraqi.
Also man, that fuselage is ugly as sin from that angle.
I agree- it looks like a mutated insect. This chopper hasn’t been used by many countries, has it? Wonder why?
Guys do you realize that we should be celebrating 10th or 11th anniversary of Small Air Forces threads this year? Glanini launched the first one back in 2003 or 2004 IIRC. Central African Mi-24 represents best what these threads should be about. Enjoy! And thank you all for keeping this discussion alive.

Thanks for the fantastic find, Starsign! And, yes- it was Glanini who started all this wonderful stuff! Again, I really appreciate everybody’s contributions. I have found some incredible images as I have read my way through these threads. I’ve been an airplane fanatic since I saw a USAF C-47 fly over my house, while I at four years-old was sitting on my grandmother’s lap in my back yard. These threads are a fantastic and valuable historical compilation, and I am certain that they have been a source of true amazement and wonder for many, many people besides me. Let’s make this the longest-running series of threads in the history of the internet! Happy anniversary, everybody!
Way, way back when the originator of these threads (I believe his name is giannini) first posted a request for pictures of aircraft from small air forces, I imagine he had not the slightest clue what an incredible collection of images would result from it. I have had such fun reading my way through all of the pictures everybody has posted. These threads have truly given me great joy, and have added tremendously to my life. I would like to personally thank every single person who has contributed. I used to think I was alone in my interest, but I soon found out that I was quite mistaken! Let’s just keep it going, everybody!

Finally a good side-view of Central African Republic Mi-24!

Outstanding! Anybody know what the registration letters are on the tail? I know they start with “TL-“, which is the CAR prefix.
Guatemala :
A-37 :
Caravan :
PC-7 :
Strange- looks like a different shade of blue on the fin flash of the Caravan than on the roundel. Or am I going blind?
Even if we are in Le Bourget, second flag is more the one of Italy than France. In fact, this SABCA F-104 is decorated with flags of the four nations that originally ordered the F-104G, namely Netherlands (Dutch), Italy, Germany and Belgium.
Yes, of course. The French never used the F-104. Holland, Italy, Germany, and Belgium make absolute sense.
