    Another View

    Hi

her picture for Iraqi AN-32B but with new insignia for Iraqi airforce.

Here’s another view of the Iraqi An-32, showing more of the side. I do believe, now, that the fuselage roundel may include the coat of arms. From http://www.airliners.net.

    Iraq An-32 Fuselage Insignia

    Hi

Do you know what the fuselage insignia is? Thought at first it might be the coat of arms, but doesn’t look like it. Some sort of unit emblem, perhaps?

I would love others to contribute aswell, so please feel free.:)

The text on the front fuselage of Twin Otter SY-007 reads SEYCHELLES PEOPLES DEFENCE FORCES. And see attached image of the Seychelles Peoples Defence Forces badge, which is on the fin.

    Agreed!

That’s a great blog you have there King Rat! Note that “blue 57” is not an Mi-24R but an Mi-24K.

I heartily concur- your blog is outstanding, King Rat! By the way, the unusual roundel on the Su-25 is the Armenian coat of arms. The text above it is “Armenia” in Armenian script. See attached image.

    Guinea Bissau or Guinea?

    Guinea Bissau An-14

Are you sure this is Guinea Bissau? The roundel looks like Guinea to me.

By the way, the Mongolian An-14 and the DRC Mi-8 are fantastic! Thanks!

    Guinea An-14

    Hi Boys!
I am looking for pictures from exotic An-14 Pchelka/Clod. I read Guinea, Bissau-Guinea and Mongolia also used the type…
If somebody has pictures of this, please share!
    Thanks in advance!
    Alex/Sanyi

Alex, I don’t have any pictures, but I do have a b/w side profile from the Small Air Forces Observer Magazine I could scan and get to you. The aircraft was overall olive green, with old Guinean roundels (yellow-red-green, from the center) on the rear fuselage, half-way between the wing and tail surfaces. I am not sure if there were roundels on the wings. I actually built a model of this aircraft, using the old 1/72 VEB Plasticart/Masterkraft kit. It went together surprisingly well, and looks quite nice. There may still be kits available from time to time on eBay. I used Madagascar roundels from the Zotz Roundels of the World set, replacing the white centers with yellow. I took the artistic license of putting roundels on the top and bottom of both wings. Let me know if you would like me to scan the picture, and I will do so.

    New Chinese Roundel, Continued

I know it’s not an aircraft, but the picture I’ve posted shows another example of the new Chinese roundel, without the bars, in use. It’s on a new tank being developed by the Chinese. It now appears like the stealth fighter is not just an isolated example of this roundel.

King Rat, the images from the Seychelles are astounding! Especially that Rallye! I had no idea! Every once in a while I come across some true gems, and these images certainly are. You have made my week. Magnificent! Thank you! I tremble in anticipation of the wonders you will post in the future!

    Rat, No- King YES!

I guarentee that many of you have never seen an Azeri Be-12, or an L-29, therefore enjoy these.

The images from Azerbaijan are absolutely incredible- THANKS! Never thought I would see most of these!

Thanks Again! And New Ethiopian Roundel?

Still learning with the best, my friend, still learning. 😮

    Grande abraço! 🙂

Thanks for the wonderful info on the Angolan and Mozambiquan Noratlases! Well, well, guess I’ll just have to build one of those…

Attached find a purportedly new Ethiopian roundel. See also the profile of an Su-27 with it on the tail, plus a photo of a MiG-27 featuring it on the fuselage. New air force roundel, some other sort of Ethiopian roundel, or unit/squadron badge? I have seen Ethiopian aircraft and helicopters with a number of different roundels; would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I Think It’s The Old Ugandan Roundel

I have a question about the roundel (as I have so often :)).

Do they use a new roundel in Uganda? And if so when was it changed?

If you look REALLY closely, I believe you can see the faintest traces of the crane in the center of the Ugandan roundel on the Jet Ranger.

    Mozambiquan Noratlases?

Arthur and Charlie Golf, thanks for the update on the Fiat G-91s. The Angola information in the book sounded problematic; now I know it is. I do have a question about Portuguese Noratlases in Africa. I have an image of one with a Mozambiquan flag on the front fuselage; see attached. Was this aircraft actually used by Mozambique, or was the Mozambiquan flag part of the markings on Portuguese aircraft stationed in Mozambique? If it was indeed used by Mozambique, do you have any info concerning the overall markings of the aircraft?

    One Distinct Advantage

If the Jet Ranger is indeed sporting a new Ugandan roundel, at least it will be a heck of a lot easier to paint!

I was just wondering the same thing, Gerard!

    AW139 from Air Guard (TTAG)

Something about that AW139 looks strange- Photoshopped? I have attached two other AW139s in similar poses, one from the Japanese Coast Guard, and one from Qatar. Could we have one image, but several manipulated manifestations?
