This looks like a No.100 Mk.1 tail unit. As can be seen in the photos the fins appear to be made of two parts and hollow. The No.100 Mk.1 tail unit had spring loaded fins which extend out from the two piece hollow fins shown in the photo. So this tail unit is British and as stated would normally be attached to a Medium Capacity 1,000lb H.E. Mk.6 bomb.

I think its an A-26 gun nose that was previously stored at Hurn. As was the Undercarriage leg mounted in the frame which i think was B-25.

I will guess RAF Cranwell North grass runway. The mobile control trailer may be there from the gliders. PM631 does look to have been performing high powered engine runs. So did she encounter a problem and put down? Early 1980s?

Fantastic! I am full of admiration for Aero Vintage and Retrotec. I can not help but feel that the historic aviation community owe a huge debt of gratitude to Guy Black and equally to Angus Spencer-Nairn. Both these men have allowed us to see and hear some very special and rare machines. The complex and challenging engineering and in-depth research that Guy has performed over the last couple of decades is something that i for one am very appreciative of. I really commend him for taking on these challenging projects. In time i will very much be looking forward to seeing and hearing the DH-9.

As stated in the other thread the Saracens Head was the “Local’ for the RAF. This bar has been closed for many years closing in 1959? although the building still stands and is now Waterstones bookshop.

5C/808 is a chartboard lamp of the type mounted on nav tables etc it has a crocodile type clip and dimmer switch attached. If you meant 5C/803 it may make more sense as that is a formation keeping lamp used on both port and starboard. Hope this helps.

    Peter

That canopy is from a Miles Martinet, quite a common canopy there seem to be many kicking about.

With regard to the jet canopy could it not be from a U16 Meteor drone if not i would also say Scimitar.
