What exactly is it that the Griffin trust aims to achieve that the other groups don’t, or I suppose what do the other groups wish to see happen that the GT doesnt? From what I understand everyone is keen to see the hangers saved.
Still sounds like heads need banging!!!! Would it be worth inviting the offenders to view the forum. Every story has 2 sides and just maybe if they are oblivious of their actions then something positive may come out of it.
Perhaps the local paper might find some interest in a Hooton mafia story?
I’ve never been to Hooton and admitably never even knew the place exsisted until I saw it last night on the telly. Seems to be a place full of potential, it’s survived for 90 odd years but is it now really going to fade away due to tittle tattle?
What a crying shame!! Heads need banging, send coordinates and ill ship over a crate of beer and a pack of cards if it will help get people talking…..
I’ll second that, the orange dayglow panels on Army helicopters are also sticky back vinyl sheets.
It may be the airman’s mess buildings at RAF Ingham? A new group has been formed to turn them into a visitors centre.
Ju52 in the Alps at the start of ‘Where Eagles Dare’, worst moment, Bell 47 in same film.
If you need Romney’s or nissen huts then PM me, I might have a few spare.
Two more panels nearly finished. Can anyone please help me locate a Lancaster canopy? That’s one of the last items i need before i can start rivetting it all together.
Also very interested in any other Lancaster items that you may have gathering dust and in need of a good home. One day i’d like to bring a Lancaster back to RAF Metheringham.
‘Frost’ classic car restoration equipment also do them and pipe benders too.

Fantastic work there Rich, Big well done to you and your team’s efforts and thanks for a great day out.
Well worth a visit if anyone is thinking of going. Great bunch of enthusiastic volunteers working together and all very hospitably.

Ive got one that’s missing a towing arm, if anyone can help locate a spare to complete the trolley then it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

There is of course the much simpler option of replicating the cockpit instrumentation within a modern airframe, after all once your strapped inside you could be in anything you want to be in.
It always makes me wonder why people are so keen for a window view on the EK taxi rides, surely the experience is being cooped up inside?
