August shows cancelled but not September’s as yet

August shows cancelled but not September’s as yet. (on the Red Arrows web site)

I hope it will be up to the RAF and the Reds themselves to decide if they are going ahead with any shows unless the MOD investigation pending results stops them.

The BAE Hawk T1 is cleared to be flown by the RAF including the Red Arrows and I cannot see a restriction about aerobatic flying mentioned so far.

I remain optimistic about RAF Leuchars Airshow.

Fully aware but the late Flt Lt Jon Egging would want the Reds to fly again

Pete – of course you are correct there are always good examples sadly in a minority

Pete – of course you are correct there are always good examples sadly in a minority.:)

We (us older than 30s) wouldn’t be sharing these opinions if we didn’t care while ourselves trying to set good examples.

And those adults that do, toil to earn respect due to peer group pressure on their own youngsters to join the miscreant majority. (“Be with us or be square” – approach to group control)

That will be a blow for RAF Leuchars airshow fans as the line up is depleted

That will be a blow for RAF Leuchars airshow fans as the line up is depleted already and the Reds who usually stay the whole day would have made up for it.

There’s weeks yet and I shall remain optimistic.:)

Doom and gloom the word Respect is fast becoming extinct

Respect is something to be earned, not something to handed out as of right.

While we bemoan the lack of respect for a person or for an institution, we should also ask ourselves what they have done to earn and/or to retain the respect of others.

The word ‘Respect’ is gradually becoming ‘extinct’ like the dinosaur. Along with words such as loyalty, punctuality, integrity, etc

The reason is as Lance has stated.

It cannot be demanded and with the majority of examples of the older generation we have now it sadly cannot be earned.

In other words the examples set by adults for youth are simply devoid of any standards.

Parents – simply dish out money to keep kids off their backs, they are allowed to watch TV until any time of the night and any programme too. Do they know as parents where or what their kids are doing during a 24 hour period? Do they heck! So neighbourhood gets trashed, neighbours shown disrespect, local shops robbed, etc. Police dare not intervene as it’s politically incorrect.

Teachers – simply do a job to earn money, no interest in whether kids attend school or not, no liaison with parents (who anyway do not wish to know), kid’s punctuality (what’s that?), indiscipline in class (nothing done usually again as it would be politically incorrect)

Employers – punctuality, integrity, loyalty, employee hungover (too scared again for politically correct reasons to do anything). Dismissal – oh that’s like moving heaven and earth isn’t it?

Police – hamstrung with so much bureaucratic paperwork and administration that it’s easier to toe the politically correct line with respect to social miscreants.

Yes it is sad state the entire world finds itself in and I must admit that this is endemic across the globe and isn’t just in the developed nations.
