Hi Guys,
The short answer is that most on this forum much as they may scream about revenge do not wish to see the UK end up with the Police routinely armed.
Sure we in UK aren’t questioning when arms have to be drawn by the Police in extenuating circumstances and when they are carried routinely by Police (already mentioned by me in earlier post/s).
This is a small tiny island in comparison to your massive nation. An island has its geography as it’s natural defences – the sea.
The current situation as it stands today does not IMO call for an armed intervention by anyone, least of all ‘Joe Public’.
Why not do us a big favour and call on your buddies in the USAF to daily load up a B-52 before routine daily high altitude patrol over our skies with trillions of rain pellets and drop them on the clouds above us around 4-5 pm each evening UK time.;)
The ensuing torrential rain will dampen and slow down more rioting.
It will give the Parliament time to sort out it’s dithering PC members.;)

Alex Salmond: Scotland safer than England
“… Mr Salmond condemned the violence across the country saying there was no excuse for what he described as the “mayhem and lawlessness and criminality” seen south of the Border.
Asked by the BBC whether the violence was less likely to happen in Scotland, the First Minister replied: “Yes but we have no complacency about it.” Scotland had “a different society”, he added. “It is important that we present that,” he went on.
He said: “One of the many frustrations yesterday was to see the events being described on the BBC network and Sky as riots in the UK.
“Until such time as we do have a riot in Scotland, then what we have seen are riots in London and in English cities. And it is actually unhelpful to see them inaccurately presented, because one of the dangers we face in Scotland is copycat action.”….”
Which looney wrote the above script for him?
“Alex Salmond: Scotland safer than England”
As a politician, Salmond should remember the wisdom of the old saying that:-
“It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear ignorant than to open it and remove all doubt.”
“…Scotland Office minister David Mundell said he welcomed the fact that Scottish forces were being deployed south.
He added: “That is the positive side of the First Minister’s comments this morning. What is unhelpful is the tone he has adopted in trying to make political capital out of a terrible situation. It is a parochial and petty view. I think most Scots would prefer to see the Scottish Government concentrate on providing practical assistance as part of the UK rather than scoring cheap points.”
Scottish Labour leader Iain Gray said: “The First Minister’s reaction to the riots is small-minded and embarrassing if he really thought the most important thing was that they should be called ‘English riots’ on TV. Surely he could have seen his way to expressing solidarity with the communities devastated by this criminal violence first and foremost.”
He added: “There are few Scots who don’t have relatives or friends in the places affected south of the Border.”
Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said: “Scotland is not free from social tensions and community disorder and instead of gloating about riots in another part of the UK, the First Minister’s efforts would be better spent addressing those deep-rooted issues here.” ….”

Here are a few –
“And let’s not forget that Glasgow, in 2009 was named the ‘murder capital’ of Western Europe, with homicide rates and murder rates double those of London and Manchester.
What does Salmond have to say about that?”
“Our problems are well documented, long-term and in need of fixing. Crime, drugs, health, poverty.
What we thankfully don’t have is a response from disenfranchised punters pitching up in Argyle Street or Lothian Road, setting fire to the place and emptying shops of designer trainers and iPhones.
Although by christ the unionists are paplably hoping and praying that it kicks off up here. But you’d have to dig deep into their twisted minds to work out why they’d love it to happen so much.”
“Charlie, theres always been a lost generation, nothing new about that. But poverty ain’t what it used to be, anything less than a 32 inch plasma probably counts as deprivation now and the justification for a help-yourself upgrade.”
“Any chance of you think up a wittier name for Alex Salmond.”-# 66 CreamolaFoam
“The Fattock” was my original choice but it was purloined by Smee (Beware of cyberTory gents).
Do you prefer “The Great Effluviator?”
At least he has now proved himself to be that. With the Scottish banks fiasco he blamed “City Spivs” rather than incompetent Scottish management and now using the unrest in England to try and deflect away from Scotland’s own sectarian problems, for example.
It was reported the other day that Scotland has the most drug deaths in the whole of Europe:

Robert the Bruce would have felt at home with them …
Police have reported that looters smashed their way into Arsenals emirates stadium and have ransacked their trophy cabinet, luckily they got away empty handed. Police have said they are looking for 3 men covered in cobwebs.
Robert the Bruce would have felt at home with them as he was in to a spider – so Scottish history tells it.
Hysterical – cobwebs indeed:D:D:D:D

5 counts of burglary – maybe that’s how he earned his millions
With a criminal record, she wouldn’t get a job at the end of it anyway!
I bet her dad is really proud of her!!
5 counts of burglary from not one shop but shops- maybe that’s how the father earned his millions.
In fact maybe that’s it – like father like daughter.
I hope she goes down and that all his millions and ability to get the best lawyer will not save her. A complete disgrace to her University and maybe she can finish her degree in Italy since she is studying Italian and work for the people with ‘connections’.

While agreeing with the principle of ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ is for ….
I thought our justice system worked on ‘Innocent until proven guilty’. I guess the university will not act until the outcome (quite right).
Baz
While agreeing with the principle of ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ which is in respect of civil or criminal courts. Within Universities there is a Senate (Court) which is all powerful over a student’s career and conduct while a matriculated student within that University. There is also a strict student’s charter which I believe this woman has breached. http://www.exeter.ac.uk/about/organisation/governance/
History of Exeter dates back to 1855 with it’s Royal Charter as a University being granted in 1955 http://www.exeter.ac.uk/about/facts/history/
It is no fledgling institution.
There is one saving grace that semester does not start until early October (after the Sept 21 court appearance) for returning undergraduates and I hope the University simply decide that it would not be acceptable for the woman to continue amongst other undergraduates given the outrageous situation.
The University can also hold on the award of her degree in any case and refuse any reference.
Let’s see if her millionaire father’s buys her out of these two issues court and University. Sickening if he does.:o

That’s in fact were this PC rubbish started with Labour
How? New Labour were even worse than this lot with ‘social’ nonsense
Moggy
Hi Moggy C
That’s in fact where this PC rubbish started with Labour. It’s snowballed since and of course the mostly sozzled Liberals sit on the fence all the time on everything.
Can you imagine a liberal MP posted as sentry on guard duty in an active theatre of war situation?
“Will I challenge?, maybe not, they are most likely a friend, dressed like one, oh well let them pass, strange though they’ve got their berets sloping the wrong way, oh! must be just a bit tipsy like us, s.it he’s not a he it’s a she and she’s just pulled out an SMG and I think I can see a suicide bomb belt, should I fire, Gosh! where’s the rifle?, Oh! never mind it’s probably someone larking about in fancy dress…….KABOOM
Moggy why don’t people such as yourself and many on this forum with good values not stand for local council elections and get something moving at least through local government as they certainly in Scotland have a great say in the Police budget? My question is sincere and is NOT factitious.:)

Again a female – but wait for it –
“…A wealthy undergraduate from the University of Exeter has been accused of stealing from shops during the riots in London.
Laura Johnson, 19, has appeared before magistrates in Bexley on five counts of burglary.
Miss Johnson, who is reading English and Italian, is reported to be the daughter of a millionaire businessman from Orpington, south-east London.
She was released on bail, to return to court on 21 September.
A statement released by the University of Exeter said: “We can confirm that Laura Johnson is an undergraduate student at the University of Exeter.
“The university will await the outcome of the court case before deciding on whether to take any action.” ….”
Throw her (rich or not rich) out of University now never mind any court judgement. Not worthy of any degree from any University least of all from Exeter.

Where are her original sources ?
Where are her original sources ?
Ann Coulter seems to have inside knowledge that hasn’t yet been made public, so called disabled (miraculous cures – Biblical I guess) looting (turbo powered electric motorbility scooter obviously), rampant sperm spreading for the purpose of claiming benefits.
Oh well now we have to trace all GP’s signing disabled permits and trace birth records with same mother – how many civil service jobs can that create along with managers of managers?
There may be evidence that this news item/article is based on but until that evidence is with HM Government, DofE, and the PM’s office marked “must see or fall” nothing will happen and even then it may take a lifetime.
Back to concentrating on water cannon as it sure will stop a motorbility scooter in it’s tracks – battery will die fairly soon.:)
