While the clean up squads are noble gestures and should be lauded …..

While the clean up squads are noble gestures and should be lauded and are extremely good anti rioting PR (thanks to all those who put in the effort often at personal expense of travelling in to affected areas) I think rapid legislation should be brought in to make rioters and looters remanded pending trial to be made public examples and made to clean up the areas they ‘trashed’.

After all if they have the energy to riot and loot that same energy (unless badly injured in the process) can be utilised to clean up pending charges being levelled against them.

They smash up the community. loot it, and then sit in remand cells, eating and drinking at the taxpayers expense :mad:and the nicer side of the UK youth clean up after these scumbags.

I have already made this analogy from my student part time work. The young (male and females) drink all night in nightclubs, arrive at work dehydrated, hungover, often with no sleep and then loll around talking to each other or on their mobiles discussing the previous nights escapades. Who keeps the business going, the older generation who are in a minority. The irresponsible youth have a great example in the owners daughter who seems mostly on the same wavelength of party, party, party.

The staff restaurant is filled at all times with the youth talking about the previous nights escapades and taking extended breaks. Does anyone do anything? NO.

The local bus company have a random breathalyser on clocking in and most drivers seem to agree it is fair. Try bringing that in at my work – impossible I am told as the ultimate owner of the multinational is an ex nazi sympathiser and reported as a drying out alchy.

How can anyone out on energy stimulant cocktails and alcohol all night survive an 8-10 hour shift at work if they have had no sleep the previous night?

This happens each night not just weekends.

Where do they get the money to indulge in these excesses ?

Well they live at home, drive a car, at Uni (free tuition fees no repayment) often on means tested living cost loan (can be up to £4800+) and earn more than the supposed 20 hours per week during term time.
    They simply don’t care a ‘toss’.😡

    Fair or unfair?
When deserving older people are without work and looking for it.

This is the PC world we live in today and it isn’t a wonder why sadly generalisations are made about youth of today (apologies to all those of you who have younger generations as children and grandchildren who aren’t of this anti social elk)

This e-petition only refers to rioters in London

Beat you to it old bean 😉

Also – I think this E-Petition actually may be heard , please share it

E-petitions Direct.Gov – All Convicted Rioters To Have Their Benefits Taken Away

This e-petition only refers to rioters in London.

It needs to extend to cover other UK cities.

I am unsure though about what happens after the convicted rioters lose their benefits.

Do they sleep rough, burgle, mug people, eat ‘thin air’, be taken in to long term NHS psychiatric care (non existent) ?

Or a simple three way decision –
    – if UK citizens, clean up and rebuild the destruction they have contributed to
    – if Non UK Citizens (but are EU citizens) repatriate to parent state and let that state deal with their custody or rehabilitation
    – if Non UK citizens (Non EU) asylum seekers simply deport to country of origin and let consequences take their course

Nothing Police statish apart from use of Water cannon

A lot of ‘police-state’ options listed there, Jay. I thought that’s exactly why Libya is being bombed, so that it’s not a police state?

    Hi kabirT

Nothing Police statish apart from advocating use of Water cannon which is cheaper than escalating NHS bills (rioters and police) and destroyed buildings and vehicles.

The dampening effect of torrents of water along with indelible dye reduces the rioting quickly along with the easy identification of rioters by the community after the event.

Parent/s being always responsible for minors and their schooling and where abouts at all times should be nothing akin to a Police State.

If these rioters can destroy communities they can re-build them if UK citizens or return to where they have dropped in from to cause the UK such havoc.

Nothing Police Statish about that – its simply the law in UK that people just because they have a ‘brainstorm’ cannot go about wanton destruction of the community.

What solutions are you proposing, having group therapy with these nutters, giving them medication, giving them jobs, locking them up (not enough cells all over UK) or conscripting them in to mandatory national service in the army and posting them where (the war crimes statistics would soar).

The UK is rapidly reaching a state of emergency in many cities and who knows there may have to be measures brought in that were last seen only in WWII.

Yea! all the looters are vying for places on the best US teams

A rather strange observation from my side but…sales of baseball bats on Amazon UK have gone up by 50,000 per cent!

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/sports/ref=zg_bs_tab

    Hi KabirT
Yea! all the looters are vying for places on the best US baseball teams, did you not realise.

Someone funding them has Debit or Credit Card accounts and disposable money and is it worth Amazon risking privacy laws (in the interests of the safety of the wider community) to confide in the Police as to who is doing all the buying.

This rioting is all practice for getting the swing right with baseball bat I guess.

Don’t know about the ball chuckers (pitchers) though, what practice they are getting in all this and with what (curling stones maybe).

Most of us are close to identifying the possible causes but….

Most of us are close to identifying the possible causes but what can we do about reducing the furtherance of this carnage as well as what can the authorities do to control further unrest?

    1. In post 160 I pointed out that accountability of parent/s of minors be made a fundamental legal requirement. Failing to abide by this law be punishable by parent/s being fined.

    2. Even before schools return for the Autumn what can local communities do to reduce the number of minors swelling these rioting mobs?
Be vigilant of youngsters unsupervised by responsible adults (ideally parents) being seen in the neighbourhood. Encouraging families (relatives and friends) to at all times know exactly where and what all minors in their care are and engaged in doing.

    3. Once schools re convene for teachers and heads to be empowered to pay rigid attention to attendance at all classes and absconder’s parents contacted immediately. Failure to contact parent/s or should parent/s be unaware of where minor is then teachers/head to contact Police. Parent/s, child meet with head at school and are named and shamed.
Regular forged sick notes, etc to be managed by medical examination and proof sought from a mandatory attendance at child’s GP.

    4. Although we cannot manage all of those lost by failed attendance at school/college in past years we can try to get it right from now on. ie Tomorrow.

    5. What can we do to control further trouble.
    Write to MPs
Encourage parliament to pass legislation empowering Police to do their job.
Include to MPs suggestions such as water canon with indellible dye flown in if necessary from France/Ireland
Troublemakers arrested must be made to tidy up and re-build the communities they have destroyed – name and shame.

    6. Deport all asylum seekers arrested in rioting.
Repatriate all EU (non UK citizens) citizens arrested in rioting and let their parent country find them pastimes other than destroying the UK.

    7. Ask any left wing politicians on the side of this ultra left wing ‘malarchy’ to justify themselves in public at a TV referendum where everyone can vote them out.

Jobs – where – Mars, the moon or repairing the space station without space suits on

Jobs – where – Mars, the moon or repairing the space station without space suits on:rolleyes:

If every unemployed person behaved in the depraved way these maniacs are behaving then there is no job that would have them.

All the excuses in the world do not condone any of this ‘mad’ behaviour as it’s going to distract parliament from more critical issues (not that they can be distracted when they are usually asleep anyway) such as the economy and the financial jugglery in the US.

Creation of jobs would as a result slip so far back in parliament’s agenda that it will be the next general election before it becomes a focal point again.
