I hate flying long haul… especially as I get bored very easily… can’t sleep while sitting… and like to be able to move around! So my most forgettable flight was the one I took to the States last year… flying a Bmi A330. Wasn’t a bad flight… was impressed with everything about it… the aircraft, the service… it was just too damn long!!!! I’m not really looking forward to my flight to Canada , but I guess you’ve just got to take the rough with the smooth to get anywhere in the world!

Can’t remember my first flight… I was very young and didn’t care about aircraft back then… one thing I do remember is that I went up some stairs at the back of the aircraft… and I thought it was great at how I managed to meet my dad in the middle of the plane when he went in through the side door!

The first flight I can remember was on an Air UK Leisure 737… maybe a 400 I think! From MAN to Rhodes… via Gatwick.

When I was bad… I got hit… I’ve turned out OK… I was never a very naughty child… but sometimes I’d p!ss my dad off somewhat! Strangely… any disciplining that needs to be done now is always done by my mum… not sure why… maybe it’s because I’m bigger than my dad now… not sure!

I think this was the Spit I saw flying over the Great Central Railway on the 15th of June. There was a blue photo recce spit flying over on the 14th. They were flying as part of a historical re-enactment weekend! Great to watch!! A German re-enactor was yelling random german at the spitfire before letting off a burst of MP-40 at it!

There was an Airbus A340-400, only one prototype was built though. The project got cancelled. And that’s about all the info I’ve got on that!

Looks like Red Top missiles on the port side of the aircraft, and firstreaks on the other, in the background. There’s a gun or two towards the front of the aircraft these have to be 30mm ADEN’s. The rocket pods are probably 68mm MATRA SNEB’s. I’ve never seen the =m mounted overwing like that… are they combined rocket/fuel pods?? I originally thought the trays infront of the aircraft were holding 30mm shells… but it looks more like they’re the 68mm rockets!! I reckon the bombs are 1000lb UK GP weapons, and there’s some fuel tanks around too… not sure how much they hold though!

That sounds daft because of the vowell at the start!

Technically speaking… you could just put a “the” infront of every country… as long as you include the country’s full name!

    Examples

    The Peoples Republic of –
    The Democratic Republic of –
    The United Kingdom of –

But then that wouldn’t sound right in a travel book!
