What do pilots do when they have to pee?
Sorry about the bodily function focus – no insight on food – but the name ‘poopy-suit’ rings a bell.
Flex has basically got it… but the best thing to remember is that the majority of ‘fighters’ are not originally designed (other than the Su-34-with built-in relief facility) to have combat time (without refueling) of more than an hour (ask an F-16 driver just how much time they have in the air with a load on-board and no refueling).
But… just imagine yourself having to ferry an F-16, or similar, across any major distance… now picture yourself slipping on a condom – with a tube attached – as you don your flightsuit… similar in essence to the early U-2 flights and their associated ‘space suits’ only I believe that the ‘pee’ pack is not carried against the body anymore, but within the seat.

Agreed!
ISS with Atlantis 😉
ISS just passed over my area on a Southeasterly course (23:00 hrs – or so)

and here’s the upcoming June 17 track for Coventry

She’s more than a simple dot even to the naked eye… we’re talking about the brightest (as bright if not brighter than Venus ever appears), fastest moving object up there (other than aircraft and meteorites) – usually at least 4 times brighter than the average satelite passing over.
looks a lot like the AS-1 Kennel
OK, another from ‘this’ side of the pond… and well, it was 3 days ago, but how often does anyone get a gorgeous DC-3 flying near their home… so, officially it was Monday afternoon and the ‘Flagship Detroit’ DC-3 of The Flagship Detroit Foundation was heading westward up the St. Lawrence… I’ve not seen that much polished aluminum in ages!
Is Diamond Lil unique?
Moggy
but we can’t cite Diamond Lil as an example anymore … she’s had her, um ‘change’ back to her roots as a gorgeous representative B-24A (with a new name)
and now thats my vote for truly unique one of a kind, only one flying, really neat bombers.
Yeah, but to get back to the original question… (and I love the Hog)
Air to Air with ‘modern’ fighters… what kind of idiot fighter jock would ever, and I mean ever get himself into a dogfight with a Warthog???
Even if you don’t have great radar/missiles to knock her down without getting close, the A-10 needs to do what… turn one (maybe 2) tight flat 360, and your basic MiG-21/F-5 (or equivalent) falls out of the sky while trying to keep with it.
apples and oranges… the A-10 was never meant to dogfight, but give it the ‘winders and if someone wants to come down and dance, she’ll make a bigger mess than originally planned.
hell, whats the next question… Nimrod with ‘Winders versus Pucara?
I like the ‘Beau’ idea too, but, the ‘Beau’ also had the ‘double-ended’ door attached to the ladder – half of which would be visible here.
this looks almost like it might have been designed to be retractable, but not with those sway braces…

See the smile on airgage juniors face once he recognises the sound of a merlin at the beginning!
Absolutely priceless!!…
I have to admit, my assistant has great taste… he was amazed at the site of the VWoC Waco Taperwing… something about the polished red and black finish… but best of all, Saturday was his first taste of Merlin Magic as we stood in the prop-wash as the Hurricane fired up.
The Snows resume practices this weekend with an aim to performing June 20 at the Owen Sound Air Show.
Former Snowbird 2, Captain Paul Couillard, has rejoined the Team for the duration of the season which will be dedicated to Capt. McCaughey.

Looks very good in grey… without making any assumptions… is this a refurbished ‘QAA’ or a replacement for ‘QAB’?
Sorry, i don’t see any shield on the Hind. I only see a big flag that is identical to the newest one of Congo-Kinshasa. Again, why?
Shield:… see highlighted area..
Flags:… Not quite identical… here’s a little visual explanation with relevant dates.
pretty neat – just an ever so slight movement back and forth… similar effect watching larger trucks on the highway… watch long enough and the wheel will look like its going backwards
