I was just going to say ‘that’s a load of cr*p’ but on further inspection, I’d say they’re ‘seeding’ a lake with fingerlings.

This planes belongs to “Hermanos al Rescate” (http://www.hermanos.org) and certainly not DAAFAR.

Although not an ‘air force’ it is an interesting find – here’s a couple pics to help clarify… this 337 was one that was shot down.

But ‘Nookie broon’ does just fine over here!
And then there’s the HP ‘fruity’ (for poofs) and HP ‘bold’ (for the manly men), but neither compare to the original – a must-have on the breakfast bangers.
Must see if the HP ‘curry’ is available over here (or even in this little armpit of a village)

ohhh, I like that Iranian one…
Here’s a few others that I’ve found along the way:
Senegal
Niger
Rhodesia
Zimbabwe
Swaziland
Thai Navy
South Korea
and a nice list of operators and serials at skymaster.org.uk
http://www.skymaster.org.uk/reims.asp
although not a small force, any good shots of USAF O-2s int he 60s and 70s would be greatly appreciated too.

Pic hunt request…
OK gang, here we go… I’ve got another profile project on the go and now the fun begins… looking for military operators of the Cessna 337/O-2 Skymaster. Any and all of them, especially anything obscure – just not those from the civilian ‘warbird’ scene.

I was very surprised to find a Gazelle from Montenegro. Any speculation on the fuselage roundel? Might it be a representation of the flag?
Found this a couple days ago… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Roundel_of_the_Montenegran_Air_Force.svg
I can’t remember it clearly, but wasn’t that pass from ‘Piece of Cake’?
Ok, a little further snooping around turns up another shot out the opposite side of the aircraft…
links, show them being posted here: http://www.jadeair.com.tw/modules/ipboard/index.php?showtopic=8707
(sorry, couldn’t find it or tell you what anything says)
and also in a non-public directory at this address:

He’s in Washington State… anyone wanna just email him and ask where he got the shots? – unless of course that’s your address Prowlus 😉
Ahh ok, so is Buffalo not the best place to fly to if I wanted to see Niagara Falls?
Its my personal opinion that the view of the Falls is better on the Ontario side, but there are some great vantage points in the U.S. side as well.
If you’re going to be in the U.S., then its probably the easiest route to fly into Buffalo… then just take a walk across the bridge (or rent a car) then check out the casino, the shows, etc., and maybe even down the road to Ed Russell’s warbirds http://www.ontario-warbirds.ca/ed_russell_collection.htm .
“I would be very careful in Bangkok, be wary of seriously shady persons,…”
watch out for the kind middle-aged gentleman who would love to show you some great sites and then puts you on a Tuk-Tuk which promptly takes you to feed some fish at the river, a couple temples then a clothing store, and a jewelers then the Golden Dome where you are unceremoniously left if you haven’t been buying anything at the previous 2 locations. and don’t forget Soi Cowboy (Pat Pong same same) off Sukhumvit Rd. – not a place to go with the girlfriend. I’m generally a walker when I get overseas – you see and experience so much more – and racked up quite a few Kms in Asia. I had no probs in Bangkok, but know of others who have, so simply stay aware.

It could simply be taken during an exercise between Civil Air Patrol and the Air Guard – in this case the CAP filling the role of ‘bogey’ for the Guard to intercept – and here, the intercept is over and our friendly neighbourhood Viper is lighting ‘er off to RTB.
Buffalo??… IMO only if you’re going to an NFL (football) or NHL (hockey) game – cross the river to Niagra Falls, Ontario for a better view of the falls and some great wine country.
Bangkok, I have to admit that I didn’t like it… a little too busy and dirty (I’m talking physically not morally) but then again my view was jaded after Hanoi, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City.

thanks for that Turretboy, I remember than day well – I was in Hangar 11 when I heard the first notes out of the Lanc and ran like hell for the hot-zone fence (that was a sight to behold)… the sight and sound of that gorgeous beast come to life was unbelievable – even the squealing brakes as they nosed her ahead and pivoted to face the crowd at the fence… ahhhh (no, wait, that was ’88 VR-As first year in the air)
…gotta love the typical Trenton weather front rolling in too – alsmost the same clouds as in 92. Also reminds me of the one thing I never did like about the Trenton shows… the announcer.
