On that I would agree, hope he holds Cameron to actually answering questions, if he can he is on a winner.
What is the problem with anyone having ideas, these have to be put before Parliament before anything gets changed, frankly it’s preferable to the Tories passion for flogging off all the country’s assets and essential services, to the financial circus, the only one’s to benefit are the speculators, venture capitalists and foreign investors.
Before condemning his proposals just think a little, does it feel good that profits from a good chunk of Britain’s privatised railways is used to subsidise France’s nationalised railways?, isn’t it great that our energy supplies are dependent on foreign companies?, absolutely marvelous that medical services are being glad handed to private companies who operate purely for profit rather than medical care or need?
Like many am also uneasy about what appears to be too cosy with terrorists, however he is correct in that sooner or later we will have to talk to these people or wipe them out.

We have such a government right now.

It would appear this lad refused to return with his family and did a runner from the hotel, the family and hotel staff couldn’t find him and rightly or wrongly took the decision to leave and catch their flights.
Difficult decision either way, but at 17 he is certainly old enough to realise the consequences of his actions.

Amusing to read all the rhetoric regarding the “cost” of the NHS, of course it is a net cost, paid for by NI contributions and taxes just as all the emergency services are and the armed services, no-one seems to expect the armed services to operate at a profit, all of them are costs which we pay for.
Yes we can debate as to value for money or priorities etc, but essential services are in place because they are as it says on the tin “essential” services.
As for the BBC, that organisation gives far better value for money than anything from the likes of Murdoch or even the ad loaded “free” commercial channels.

Careful Silver Fox, you are showing the same prejudice towards Boris, as many on the opposite side are to JC. i am always amused that so many believe the real Boris is the bumbling fool he often portrays. Don’t underestimate either of them..
I don’t think he is a bumbling fool, he is very good at hiding his true persona behind the clowns mask, I believe that he is even more rabid than Cameron or Osborne and that is saying plenty, but again certainly in the North, I believe he will not attract the support that he seems to get in London.

I find it unlikely that Labour will win, regardless of who they choose. Given that the Tories have such an advantage over Labour, and Scotland is now effectively lost to countrywide parties, we will most likely be looking at a Tory government of some kind.
I’m with Moggy, while Tory voters may consider Osbourne to be good/great for the economy, I think he suffers from a little of the awkwardness that destroyed Miliband. Boris is a sure fire vote winner for them, and his joyful façade combined with his razor sharp wit would make Corbyn look like a dinosaur in parliament.
Frankly I hope the Tories do put Boris up front, that will immediately make Labour very much the first choice for many “floating” voters.

S.F. Just HOW do we “Check, and know just who we admit”?. Just think of all the migrants we have living here in the U.K. and who are able to collect childrens allowances, even when their children are living still in their parents Country of origin. I wonder just how many of our Benefits people have actually gone to Poland, Ukrainia, Lithuania to check their claims out?. My assumption would be a great fat ZERO, but Hey, Ho, we have so much money we just have to give it away to all and sundry.Just ask, and ye shall receive.

By far the majority of those collecting benefits for children and others not living in this country are low paid EU migrant workers, why can they or do they do this, because our own government’s utter stupidity, check around other EU countries, it’s only us who are too damn soft on this.
You will find that many EU countries are actually more generous when it comes to benefits than we are, but in most cases after a qualifying period of living and working in that particular country, saw an interview with a Brit who had moved with his family, to Germany to work, lost his job after 2+ years, when asked why he didn’t return to the UK, his response was that he was better off where he was, plus felt he had a much better chance of finding work, also added that anyone with ideas of moving to Germany and just signing on for benefits to forget it, as it doesn’t work like that, it isn’t always as the press would have us believe.
Our checks on who enters this country are hopeless, did you know out of all foreign criminals convicted in this country, in the region of 80-90% already have criminal convictions in their home country, but we let them in, then thanks to our ambulance chasing lawyers we can’t even send them home.
