Ineos have laid off contractors, doesn’t sound promising to me, there was a buy out package being put together probably with government support, but that would have meant allowing the company to go into recievership before administrators could take over.
I doubt very much if we know the full story, but certainly this looks like the coal mine and mill owners of old who would cut wages of their workers always using the threat of accept or lose the job altogether. Having cowed the unions this boss will be back for another bite of the cherry.

Yes Ash, you are correct re Countryfile. Having dealt with these Hare Coursers, they are a dangerous lot to have to deal with when you catch them bang to rights.
Jim.

Like all the “blood sports” types, the only difference between for instance fox hunters and hare coursers is the relative wealth of participants, none of them are particularly pleasant people and certainly will resort to violence to avoid capture of any sort.
Jim
Possibly because the farmers and police have made things too hot for the slime balls “oop t’North”
Besides you’ve bigger flat fields in your part of the world.
Glad I’m not the only one somewhat confused.

Easy to snipe isn’t it, sure the BBC aren’t perfect for every one, no broadcaster will achieve that, but please spare us from the non stop stream of ads interspersed with a few minutes of tv programme as per ITV, or even worse abandon us all to the tyranny of SKY, where we pay a monthly contribution (generally more than licence fee) and have the dubious pleasure of watching wall to wall ads as well.

When the “greens” are so adept at heaping more and more costs and restrictions on energy providers, just who do they think actually pays the bill?, or is it simply they couldn’t care less about people.

BMWs are not fitted with indicators as it puts too much stress on the limited abilities of the average BMW driver, giving them another switch to use whilst driving interferes with mobile phone use, checking hair, makeup etc in mirror, plus of course door mirrors are for stopping pedestrians or cyclists from getting too close to the car, rather than checking traffic behind.

It isn’t just about the use or availability of corporal punishment, when I was at school it was available and used at times, but the real discipline, when a teacher said no or that’s enough, that of itself was usually sufficient to keep control of a class, because pupils had respect for teachers, parents were not constantly deriding teachers (as happened on here) because something doesn’t fit with the parent’s life style, in fact if a pupil came home with reports of misbehaviour, the pupil would probably get a much harder time from parents than from the teachers.

Tolerance and respect is all that is required.
Perfect answer, sadly too many power trip religions don’t see it like that.
There are good points to most religions, but sadly their main aim is power and control over the flock.
