Hi HP, if you don’t mind me asking, which items did the best? I bet the revi gunsight did well.
Hope you got good money for your panels too.
Cheers
Hi Airmanual
Your second gauge is similar to the Whitley UC indicator we are hunting for to help complete our panel. If it is available I will give you a good price for it.
All the best
Hi Cees
Is it still available? I don’t read dutch alas…
Great thread Peter… I’m currently refurbishing the pilots escape hatch for the Whitley. It’s mostly made of wood and laid out on a scottish mountain for 30 years before being whisked away by some far sighted individual. Should come up very nicely in the end.
That’s great news Pete – pass on my congratulations to Terry. I’m glad those bearings stood up to it :p
Thanks folks
I have emailed him.
Cheers
Thanks Alan and Peter
I’ll order some from LAS.
Nope, you’re not wrong 😉
I rang LAS last week but the bloke was away…
Thanks mark12.
Elliott
Thanks Dhfan – that’s an interesting site.
Please take a look in your garage Alan!!
Cheers

Hi Alan
Material is alloy – I found several Whitley fuel c ocks at a site recently – it would be nice to find the correct fixings.
Yes, i would have thought it was a BSP thread, but having measured it, it seems to be a bit over 1.25″, although the threads have not been cleaned yet.
Have you got any?!!
Cheers
To correct an earlier post (thanks Pete) that is not Paul Rogers, from the CFBG, I admit to being mislead by someone who should know better!
Yes, not CBFS – that is Darren Speechley.
Thanks Alan
That’s a pilots seat from a Whitley! Looks like they made those too…
Cheers
Many thanks Vega ECM, even though your message contains the words I was half expecting to see! Might be worth getting in touch anyway…
And in return for hijacking your thread Elliott, here’s the entry for E.G. Browne and Co. Ltd. Have you tried ringing Tottenham 2257 just in case? 🙂
Thanks Mark
I’ll feed it into ebay and see what turns up.
Elliott
I have a 1961 edition of:-
‘The Aeroplane Directory of British Aviation incorporating Who’s Who in British Aviation’
The is was put out by Aeroplane magazine.
This or earlier editions would fit your bill. They are all in there.
Mark
Thanks James – no need to apologise, i’ll take a look.
At the risk of stating the obvious, for British companies, try Companies House.
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk
Their online records are very good, but aren’t likely to back as far as you want, but it may be worth contacting them direct. If they can’t help, they may be able to advise how or who can.
Apologies if you’ve been down this route.
