Whilst trying to recover a 1:72 Hawker Sea Hawk that had fallen down behind the TV, I slipped and banged my head on the window sill. This might not be quite what you are looking for, but the bang on the head answers a lot of questions! :diablo:
Inherently risky business this :diablo:
My reason for asking is I wonder if it is still sitting in a scrapyard somewhere.
Does anyone have any contact details for the people who recovered it? Perhaps it is still saveable….
Cheers
Elliott
When did that happen Garry?
The recovery and subsequent scrapping/disposal of substantial parts of Douglas Boston Z2186 by the “Boston-Havoc Preservation Trust” here in the UK. This included selling one outer wing section for £250 to a local scrap yard, according to their article in the BAAC magazine.
Garry.
No worries. Thanks for trying.
Elliott
Hi Deryck
I think your best bet would be to repair them – sympathetic rewelding and patching where necessary. I think there are quite a few Halibag drawings around, but if these are pressings they will be very pricey and difficult to make.
Thanks David
Top man.
I think you did a good job Ben. Ignore everyone and keep up the good work :diablo:
Mike
If you need to buy any AGS fittings light aero spares have a very large range.
Nice work!
How did you construct your mold?
Are the hydraulic lines new and are those types of fittings still available?
Regards,
That’s a fair price for a Dunlop grip :p
That’s a real beauty. Those side panels look familiar…
I was going to, but I had to work instead unfortunately!
Never mind – if I had gone I would have even less money to spend on Whitleys etc.
Should have gone to the RLM auction there were bundles of Luftwaffe instruments that went quite reasonably with some of the item listed 🙂
Thanks Herbert
You are knowledgable as always. The person who is looking for these instruments is a serious collector so i’m not surprised they are hard to find items!
I’ll keep looking…. :p
Good luck with your Hurricane fuel gauge
Regards
Dave
Do you know what mods they had done to them? I have some late moded BFPs.
Cheers
Mark
You are correct in stating that DH modified the standard blind flying panels for some of their aircraft.
I have DH drawings for later marks of the Hornet that show mods. to the standard panel, for example.
Hello Dave
Any news on the channel section machine you made for us? I have been emailing and writing but no response….
Excellent work as usual Dave, nice to see things are progressing well with this unique project, keep up the great work sir.
Regards,
Dave
Did anyone work out the history for that fin? I remember seeing a werke number on it… That was the star of the auction in my humble opinion.
