Looking for any high ground wrecks and relics. Anything considered – any size, aircraft or nationality. Bigger bits are of more interest! 07890 eight 92147
Thanks very much
Thanks Ken – I will look into that one
Some Hampdens did use the white/grey coastal command scheme. I found a section of nose from one painted white a few years back.
Thanks guys. The finish needs to be dull – zinc would be best. I don’t want them brightened. Yes, they are for static use (for the Whitley).
I’m looking for a recommendation, as these parts are important.
Thanks!
Thanks for that – what an amazing time capsule. Hooefully it can be brought up from the deep.
I think you would have a ‘bitsa’ Bruce!
I once contemplated making Ralph Hull an offer for a huge amount of original Spitfire stuff he had, all left over from various restorations, and which would have formed the majority of a fuselage. These were all original wartime manufactured parts, and if assembled, would have become….? What?
Getting an engine is a major milestone in any project so I wish you the best of luck!
I would say no chance regarding the database Anon. It would be a very good idea, but a hell of a lot of work.
Ken – you still have a shot at IDing the aircraft. The engine number was recorded on the RAF accident cards. If you make a list of losses in the Gravesend area and get copies of the RAF accident cards from the RAFM, you may be able to match up the engine number to a loss. It’s a bit hit and miss, but you may get lucky.
Hi – the RAF Museum (London) would be my first choice, followed by the IWM in London (think it’s closed at the present time for refurb) and Duxford.
Is there anything in particular you want to see?
Hello Garth – welcome to the forum. Are you able to tell us about the other incidents in the series please?
Be cautious who you share your info with Project 9699. Sadly there are a people out there who will raid these sites without MoD permission.
Wow – it looks like a match…
Nice pics Ross – welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone will know a bit more about this incident.
