Fouga, it could easily be recovered for far less than that.
How many P-38’s in UK museums? I think there is good justification in someone recovering it to display in the UK.
Yes AM – i’m interested in 2ba and 1/4″ bsf floating nuts, also 2ba and 4ba anchor nuts.
It’s Lance Corke
Thanks guys. Ian, i’ll try and ring you later.
The display will be long term. I would be happy to take items on in any of the three categories VX927 mentions, but would prefer to avoid loans as I cannot keen an eye on this stuff 24/7 and there are numerous horror stories about material on loan to museums…
Just in case people think work on the Whitley has stopped, here is some centre section progress…

I’m interested in more if possible AM?
Thanks guys
It could have been at Biggin in 1995 or 1996 – I think I atteneded on one of these years
Hi – yes it looks like a Spit grip to me. The yoke appears to have been cut however. I didn’t look carefully at the other grip – is it a B-8?
I remember the fw189 also made an appearence at the Biggin Hill airfair around the 1991 time. My eyes nearly popped out!
No problem – i’ve pm’d my email.
Thanks Mike – that’s a quality post, from someone who was there at the time. It would be great if you could post some of your pics.
Can anyone tell me what happened to the rest of this Lightning? It is mentioned in High Ground Wrecks that many of the larger sections found their way to museums, but I am a bit in the dark as to which museums! Does anyone know? Also, what became of the remains of the Carnedd Dafydd Boston? I know some of it was scrapped, but I suspect some parts survived. Does anyone know?
Try soaking that in deox-c. Any paint will be preserved and it will soften your concretions. Works very well for me.
