There is a Ju 52 off the coast of Chania. All the local skippers know it and you can swim down to it (its in about 6m). Made my trip!

Looks great. The MiG 21 enquiry is for a third party, so i’m not buying, but that said I would love a chance to get hold of a whole MiG 15 or 17.

Has anyone seen one? Any condition….

    Cheers

I use it too – totally agree about the heat – it does speed things up. One of the great benefits is that it leaves residual paint intact – thats handy for wreckology items.

I also find it works well on aluminium and magnesium, copper and brass too with care.

I have a cracking Whitley site begging for a proper excavation in Scotland. Wonder if they’d be interested?

    You mean this bit Steve?

That’s a different Whitley – yes, we got that bit! The other wing from this aircraft is on the first post of this thread (also recovered).

Always good to go up to the Clova Inn, but I prefered it before it got refurbished.

Hi Steve – is this it?

Cees – I left it there because it was not needed. I don’t like taking things from these sites without a good reason…

Hi Steve – there was a section of tailplane spar some distance from the main site. It should still be there as we did not move it.

    Throttle update

Peter Grieve has machined up a casing for the second damaged Whitley throttle box we have. The results, as usual are excellent! Thank you Peter. I am planning on fitting the engine limitation plate from Whitley N1521 – this was donated by Cees Broere some years ago.

The centre section tubes have been recieved and are being dressed as we speak.

What an strange statement – don’t you watch the news?

They are being slaughtered – I wonder how many ‘malcontents’ were taken prisoner in Zawiyah. Not many i’ll bet.

    Shame on you

These riots were all internal matters and no amount of guided bombs were ever going to save them from themselves. These people were fools to revolt and they deserve what they get. If they earn their independence then I have no problem with giving them support. Until then they are just a group of malcontents asking for handouts with little or no intent on doing their own dirty work.

Pity it’s gone missing Phil – sounds like it might have been helpful…

They do turn up every now and then Ken. Might be worth trying Shoreham or start a new thread appealing for a pair.
