i must admit the avro york photo looked good, are there any other avro Yorks still about or have the gas Axe claimed them?
If you mean complete Avro Yorks, then there are two here in the UK.
1. At Duxford.
2, At Cosford.
Keith.
Oh dear, first night in her new home, and they didn’t weed the hardstanding !! but hey it was all a bit of a rush !!

WHAT A DAY ? A few photos as promised !
Keith.

mike currill. Yes that Apache is looking sad and looking non airworthy, I asked a local, and it seems to have been there for possibly ten years !
dan BHX. Yes I agree, nice looking aircraft, just another small part of history fading to oblivion ?
I do intend, very soon, starting a thread encouraging people to post photos of aircraft of this era and more which are abandoned (apparantly) on airfields around the world ???
Keith.
Boosted by the huge amount of comments within this thread about XM612 at CoNAM, I had reason to go there this morning, whilst there I collected a few photos of said Vulcan, still looking very good, in my humble opinion, and the ongoing paint job has progressed since my last visit, seems at the moment to be to the outboard point of the intakes below the wings, with very difficult lighting conditions it is a challenge to get decent photos here after 09.00 (far too early on a Sunday !) 🙂
Keith.

Sorry ! but I think the original photo looks very good, too my old eyes !
If you think it is fake ? then consider just why would any person feel the urge to fake a photo of two Boeing products ?? vendetta against Boeing ? Yes ! I think that will work ?? vendetta against the aviation community (us) why ? when it would be shot down within seconds ??
I suppose I must also include the occasional crank with too much time when the mind is active and the brain disengaged !!!
Still like that photo !!
Keith.
Moggy C. Yes love that word thespian ! The Cub ownership no problem, but I have always understood that this is the well known, local, actors Stearman … or has it had a change of colour ??? … Keith.

roadracer. Thank you for bringing that to our attention, someone at work today made mention of it but couldn’t remember any details ???
Maybe tomorrow a trip to North Tuddenham with camera and an addition to your post ?
Keith.
Robert ! A supurb collection there, I like the EZY’s with all their ‘bits’ hanging out ?
Photo 4 G-EZBX, nice photo ! what is the curved structure, in the background, between the wind farm turbine masts ???
Don’t you just hate it when people ignore your main subject and rattle on for hours about some obscure item in the background ??? I know I do :diablo: :diablo:
Keith.
J Boyle. Hi yes the very same, but much smaller, lots of history here !
No question is silly, I guarantee there are lots of other people out there wanting the same answer ? Isn’t it so nice to share such things with the rest of the world … a coming together of knowledge … before it all dies away 🙂
Keith.
I have made another quick visit to Old Buckenham, and rather than start a new thread I will add a couple of photos here …
I think there must be a reason these three aircraft were parked this way ?? Would anybody know ??

Creaking Door. Yes i have these photos of the piston, And to help with scale they are all placed upon an A4 sheet of paper !!
Keith.

alanl. Thank You for that comment 🙂 I have always loved those very short wide chord prop blades, those memories go back to KLM Electras at London Airport in the 60’s
Keith.
ian. thank you for that, I overheard a conversation between two of the vets on the night trying to decide which engine a piston, that was in this display, was from ? there seemed to be no definate answer ??
Peter. Yes I can see that ! Thank you ! It is so easy to listen to those who ‘think they know what they are talking about’ and believe them ? And so much nicer to get an answer from those who do know what they are talking about …. plastic plugs to fill a gap …. so easy !!!
Keith.
Another item from the collection of 452nd BG memories ! carried by crews flying over or diverting to Russia ??
