BlueRobin. I assume you are talking about Beagle/Auster Airedale ? If so I have trawled through my photos of the day, and see nothing that resembles an Airedale ( that was trycycle wasn’t it ?) if it was there and didn’t move I would have snapped it, unless it was hidden in a hangar !
Keith.
The Yak collection at North Weald …… Keith.

Ummm … there was no one to ask permission from ? all of the hangar doors were open ! (presumably for the free minibus tours) and I did not cross the threshold, all of these photos are from outside the hanger 😉

Another photo, and a question, please excuse my lack of knowledge of most things military, what is the red aircraft in the centre ??? Keith.

XH668. These are for you ! close up of the paintwork, and during the flypast.
Hope this makes your foot hurt less ? Enjoy … Keith.

A few more from today !!!

YakRider. What supurb photos ! The best I can do for you, and your team of today, is this humble effort ! Too much sky and not enough aircraft ? But thank you very much for the display.
Keith.

Have had a very pleasant day at NW, The ceremony was very well attended, and very well organised, in my opinion !
A few of the 440 photos taken today, I had a virtual free hand to wander arond with my camera, will start a thread for aircraft photos later !
Meanwhile a few from the main event ….

Enjoy …. Keith.
Just imagine how large this thread would be if a certain ‘V bomber’ was using this colour … ????? or does it ????;)
Keith.
A little more on the Javelin front, the actual one mentioned earlier XH892 still exists ! Or I should say there is a Javelin at Flixton marked XH892 ! I have several photos should anybody want to see it.
Keith.
I am totaly out of my league here ! but the photo is Duxford, last year, please ignore the subject, but is this therefore a belfast truss within a coupled general service shed ??? Wow what workmanship !!!
Keith.

SPIT. This extract from Michael Packhams book ‘Panshanger Aerodrome’.
“On 13 March 1981 Peter Woods, of Elstree, was seriously hurt after crash landing at Panshanger in Tiger Moth G-ALND, painted in wartime Royal Navy colours as N9191. The Tiger Moth suffered engine failure after take off and stalled, crashing onto the runway.”
Keith.
XX894 … Bruntingthorpe … last week … enjoy ! Keith.

Below is a quote from Kev 35, taken from an earlier thread.
And a photo of same aircraft in better times, early 1936 at Shaiba.
G-AAUD was named Hanno and G-AAXE was named Hengist. ‘XE was caught in an airship hangar fire at Karachi on 31/5/37 and was destroyed. ‘UD was impressed into RAF service on the outbreak of war and was destroyed at Whitchurch Bristol Airport on 19/3/40 when during a gale, the aircraft was blown together with another HP42, G-AAXC Heracles. ‘XC was also destroyed as a result of this incident.

There is so much on my doorstep that I could’nt list all of the aviation features, so I have let GE do the walking, this is all within 22 miles of my house !! and I am sure there are as many not listed. Keith.
